If barnes wants to go pro after year one then I would go to NC or KU because they play up tempo ball. But if he is a man of his word and cares about school that much I would come here and be a star and play in Hilton.
PRO
No need for school if he is this good.
Duke and KU= just another name
ISU= remembered as one of ISU favorite players and go down as one of the all-time greats in school history
I voted for Duke, but I would probably go to a school with a great golf course that athletes could play for free;-) along with an academic tradition for excellence.
Actually, at his age, I think the male-to-female ratio of the school would have been an important factor to me, too. Looking back on my college choice, ISU was a great school, but it certainly does not have the male-to-female ratio in favor of us guys. It was 55% - 45% when I was in school.
Sigh, but I digress....
Iowa State, but that's given that I am currently an ISU fan because I have already gone to school there. Before I chose ISU (I'm an out of stater) I may or may not have chose differently. But I am lucky and wouldn't change attending ISU for the world. And from friends who grew up in Ames, ISU is still a new experience. It's not like it's staying where you've always been... living on your own and being on campus is still a new adventure.
I'm just going to come out and say it. You're a bad person, Drive. I understand that this is a completely hypothetical poll, but g******it, you couldn't pick ISU in this situation? And you had to pick the Jayhawks? Our most hated rival in basketball?
Let's get real. Barnes is most likely not coming to ISU (fingers crossed, hope he is). If he goes to Duke or UNC, I'll accept it. That makes sense, given everything he's said about business school & winning a national championship. But if he goes to another Big XII school, especially KU, he will kick every Cyclone fan in the throat.
I wish all the best in basketball, but I hope he doesn't **** over every fan in Ames who has cheered him on his whole life.

Coach K doesn't have the greatest track record at making his great college players into great NBA players. If HB is really an Iowa State fan I would think going to KU would be unthinkable. Don't know anything about Florida's atmosphere, I know he cares about academics and I doubt they are anything special in that category. I doubt I would got to Iowa State unless Craig Brackins were going to stick around for his senior year. So my answer would be none of the above.
