Ames High game to be televised on ESPN ?
Omaha.com - The Omaha World-Herald: High Schools - Basketball: Iowa prep star, Ames may end up on ESPN
AMES, Iowa — Basketball star Harrison Barnes and his Ames High School team might be playing for a national cable television audience on ESPN in December, Athletic Director Judge Johnston said Thursday.
ESPN is negotiating with Ames High to televise a game that is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 17, at 6 p.m. against Waukegan (Ill.) High School at Ames. . . . . Go to Iowa State, Harrison.
I watched your father play.

From a conversation with Ames AD Judge Johnston (former All Big Punter for ISU), this seems to be nothing short than a stone cold lock. Just waiting for confirmation with the opposing school right now. It will be prime time on ESPN, not ESPNU or ESPN2. This is an incredible opportunity for all involved from the players, coaches, families, fans, and the Ames community as a whole!
For a quick trivia, when was the last time ESPN broadcast a prime time event from Ames High School and what was the event?

I don't drink the Kool-Aid, and I am done making excuses. Only keeping it real... -

I didn't figure that would be a tough one for you guys...I was a junior in high school at Ames at that time and it was awesome, except for those of us on the wrestling team as it was impossible to get to our locker rooms and get our workouts in.

I'm really looking forward to the Barnes-Richmond matchup...the top two small forwards in the class. Richmond is just as quick and long as Harrison, so it should be an interesting match-up.

I will definitely be in attendance as at one time I played basketball at Ames High and well, I'm a die-hard Illini fan.
