what schools will be in H Barnes Fav 5?

Best case for everyone involved would be for us to be #1 and get his commitment.

However, if we are eliminated I'd like to have him tell the caoches now but keep us in the running in the press until the end. That way the coaches can move on with as much time as possible, HB can avoid all of the hassles he might get for not going to ISU, and we keep getting the positive pub of our name mentioned with the big boys throughout the recruiting process.

I agree - the "Fire Greg McD" crew will be out in full force, calling him a horrible coach and recruiter because he got outrecruited by, *gasp*, Duke, or, *gasp*, Kansas. Like such news would warrant the meltdown it is bound to receive...

Harrison has just as much a shot of having his own legacy at Iowa State as he does at Duke/KU/UNC/UK

Just because a program has had great players in the past does not mean a player cannot come along and be remembered in their own right. That is, unless you are trying to say Barnes won't be talented enough to do that.

So you're saying he really isn't that talented? Glad to see you're showing him the love.

There are always debates within those fanbases about who the greatest is. And if Harrison plays here there will be debates after he leaves about who the greatest player was

Well, I agree with him. He may be the best ever at an elite school - I don't KNOW otherwise.

But the odds are certainly longer than they would be at ISU.

He's up against whom at ISU? Fizer? Grayer? Thompson? All depends how you want to look and compare player to player. Doesn't matter. This list at ISU of "great" is pretty short, and is as long as my arm at UNC or Duke.

Regardless - I don't think "legacy" is on his radar at all. Ticket to the NBA and high draft status most likely is tops - as it should be.

I think Barnes has seen the negativity shown towards Heinrich and Collison and that will count against KU.

I have no inside info at all but I just have a weird feeling that he is going to Minnesota. If he does this board will have a meltdown of epic proportions.

The whole championship thing really bugs me. I would be willing to put a fair share of money down he never wins a championship. Mainly becausing winning one is very, very, very hard...even at Duke or Kansas. How many NC's have they won in the last 25 years? A couple a piece? Don't get me wrong I'd give my left arm for ISU to be in that situation but to say HB goes to one of these schools just to win a NC is naive at best and I'd hope the ISU coaches are calling BS on any coach that tries to sell it.
