Heck people made a huge deal of some Hawkeye announcer looking at a chubby chicks breasts simply cause there was a picture of it.
Imagine if Pitino's thing came out because of a security camera or something...

Do you realize how pathetic Southern Miss. was prior to Larry arriving? You can't turn a program from a single digit win season into a 20 win season in two years, it takes time. He has only 15 wins in season 5, most teams will go through this - have a few good seasons and then drop off a little bit and then come back again the next year.
Larry has been a D1 College Head Coach for 19 seasons and has taken his teams to three (3) NCAA tournaments. Subtracting the two he went to with players he inherited from Tim Floyd, his record speaks for itself -- he is not a very good college basketball coach.

If you don't believe it, just compare him to "Coach X":

    Larry: 18 seasons, 331-214 (.607), 3 NCAA's, 2 NIT's

    "Coach X": 14 seasons, 276-175 (.611), 4 NCAA's, 6 NIT's

"Coach X" has a better winning percentage and more NCAA and more NIT appearances in fewer seasons than Larry. And "Coach X" sucks. So what does that say about Larry?
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

Coach X has worked at places with an advantage in recruiting? Although, Larry did beat him for Adam.

Eustachy was also the victim of a slow news cycle. His story came out in early April when there was absolutely nothing else going on in the sports world at the time. It was all that sports talk radio, etc. had to talk about at the time. If his story would have come out in the middle of college football season and the NFL it really wouldn't have been that big of story nationally in my opinion. I think Eustachy pretty much gave the university no other option but to fire him. He didn't admit his problem or seek treatment until the decision had already been made to fire him. I think if he would have been forthcoming to BVD and the university president and said he would have been willing to take a year leave of absence to get sober the outcome might have been different.

I really think it has nothing to do with winning or losing... It's the pictures... Think about all the major scandles that have gone on over the last few years. The ones with pictures or video always end up worse. Why? Because you have that image ingrained in your head, you can go back and see it... You can look at a picture of Pitirno and Sypher but unless you see a pic of them in the act, you have a hard time visualizing it.

You forgot AP National Coach of the Year and Henry Iba coach of the honors as well.
