Ratface is beatable. With a claw hammer is best.
Iowa State fan needs to learn to spell January.
A win during this game would not speak highly of Iowa State, only that Duke was down. I can hear the Sportscenter guys already...
Or even a win after the game.
A regular season game against a nonconference opponent is nowhere near the 2nd biggest game in ISU history. Duke may not even be in the top 10, let alone #1 at that point. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here.
It would be a great win for us. It will be difficult. But I think it can be done.
I would love to see us beat Duke, but I don't think it is likely...
This is going to be a great game to watch. Duke should be the favorite to win the ACC with Lawson, Hansbrough, Ellington and Green all gone from UNC and they should once again be favorites to win the National Championship. I just hope that when ISU wins McDermott goes Johnny Orr on Vitale and Brackins shows up wearing a name-tag reading Hello, My Name Is... 1st Team All-American.
Having said that, this would be a great win. Especially, as an earlier poster mentioned, to get our name out in the Chicagoland recruiting area. I have always wondered why we did not work this area harder and it looks like we have made a decision to try and do that from a recruiting standpoint. I like that decision a lot.
As for this game being one of the top games in the history of ISU...no way...even if we beat them by 40.
A great game, win or lose would make me happy. But frankly, who knows how good either of our teams will be by then. The media will hype the game and both teams(to try to make it interesting and have people tune-in), and will probably talk a lot about Brackins, and an ISU win would probably be couched as "ISU" is coming into their own and does have an All-American candidate.
I think we could be talking about Ed Davis as 1st team All-American by the end of the season. How Roy hid him from the court and the scouts last season is beyond my comprehension. Brilliant work there.
