Iowa State needs to beat Duke in Januray

plain and simple as that to get any top notch recruits to come to Iowa State in the future......

That one game could decide where the ISU is the basketball world again....

Beating KU every season will go much further, especially if you can walk into the Phog and beat them. What teams upset Duke last year? We're not expected to compete, if we win, people will say "Did you see lowly Iowa State beat Duke last night?" and then forget about it two days later.

Thats true. But hey at least the selection committee doesn't forget.

We need to beat Duke. If we go up there and get hammered by 20-30 then HB will never ever ever come here. If we win Im guessing we have one hell of a shot

The Duke game has about 99.9% to do with improving our visibility for recruits in Chicagoland and about 0.1% to do with HB.

Now, I'm sure fans and the media will be all over the HB angle, but this game is about putting Craig Brackins, Gilstrap, Colvin, etc on the court to show chicago recruits that ISU can play ball.

But man, would it be fun to beat Duke....I'll be there.......

Better yet, let's beat KU, TX, OU AND Duke....

As much as I'd like to see a 1 or 2 reality say otherwise. Lets go for a 12 seed beat the 5 and go the the sweet 16. We were pretty poor last year, we have a long way to go. We are on the right path. Looking forward to the season.

That may be true for the general sports-watching public and for Vitale, but recruits (HB and others) will not forget, and as someone else pointed out neither will the NCAA selection committee.
