Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
Big props to ISU on the schedule. Can't wait to get to Chicago (twice) and watch us win.
Don't forget we played a darn good Ohio State on a neutral (80% ISU fans, haha) court a few years ago in Des Moines really well.

That's a pretty beefy nonconference schedule. -
Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
Great schedule.
I do think Duke will have just as many fans for that game if not more. Lots of bandwagon Duke fans and I am sure they have a lot of grads in the Chitown area. 9pm on a weeknight in Chicago just doesnt seem to fit your general ISU fan IMO.
Luke Harrangody vs Brackins would be a super sweet match up.

Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
Looking at it on paper now, man that's a brutal sched. Of course I can't resist W/L'ing it right now. Idaho State - W
Drake -W Mississippi Valley State - W Tennessee State - W
St. Louis - W
Notre Dame/Northwestern - L Northern Iowa - W
California - L Iowa - W Bradley - W North Dakota - W Houston - W
Duke - L North Dakota State - W Texas - L
Nebraska - L
Texas Tech - W Kansas - L
Oklahoma - L Colorado - W
Baylor - L Kansas State - W
Missouri - L
Kansas - L Oklahoma State - W Texas A&M - W Nebraska - W
Colorado- W Missouri - W
Kansas State - L
11-3 Non-Con
8-8 Conference
I bet we end up with 18 total wins though. I always subtract 1 or 2 from my first glance since I have a little homer in me.

Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
Looking through the schedule there looks like alot of winnable games, maybe I'm optimistic but I think we have a chance of beating ND, Duke, Texas, Nebraska(both games), Kansas(home), Missouri(both), and Texas A&M. I count 15 should win games and add a couple of these games and ISU is going dancing.

I believe they lost 3 starters. I haven't heard much about K-State for this year - that may be another potential road win. 19-11 should get us close to dancing.

With that schedule maybe...But recent years would suggest low 20's are needed to dance.

I bet we end up with 18 total wins though. I always subtract 1 or 2 from my first glance since I have a little homer in me. We could get 3 or 4 wins IMO. We'll be right in the middle of the B12, so in conference play we could steal one or two from KU or Mizzou, and also steal one from one of our tougher non conf opponents.

Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
We need to account for the loss or two that we aren't supposed to have...happens every year, no matter how good we are. I can't seem to forget Drake beating us years ago when we were very good.

Re: 2009-2010 Schedule released
Agreed. The selection committee puts a of emphasis on non-conference and tournament wins. If we can do well non-conference, go 8-8 conference, and get a couple of B12 Tourney wins, I think we squeak in.

Just a gut feeling. It hasn't happened for years. We'll have some upsets this year. I just know it.
