Good analysis. Yeah I saw Freddy Hoiberg drive it more then once and jam it. He was a really fun player to watch.

Let's put it this way. Maybe those type of players who can spot up and shoot it reliably out there are still out there. We just haven't had many of them at ISU lately....
No worries. I wasn't trying to come off as attacking you at all..if I did. Jake was the last guy we had who could shoot it as consistantly as described. It is definately hard for those players who are spot up shooters...see Lucca...to always be successful. The changing dynamic of the game has been towards putting a premium on athleticism and not necessarily polished skills. You hear a lot about a player being very raw. You never used to hear that as much.

This year our offense needs to go through Brackins so having multiple guards that can deliver the ball low will be a huge benefit.

Thats fine and dandy if those things get done. There was a reason last season the lane was left open for DG.

You mean because Brackins' guy couldn't double down on help?

Or because they were not to worried about DG making good things happen in the lane.

I'd like some video which shows me the lane was left open for DG and his guy backing off and saying "dude, just take it, we don't care!" DG created his space. Did he always finish? Far from it. Was he going to draw help? Nope, Brackins' guy ain't leavin'.

It's kinda like walking Pujols to pitch to Ludwick or Holliday. The results were better if you kept the double on Brackins or if you walk Albert. DG was not a good finisher in HS, and so far has not changed. Why should we expect anything different? It's not ability, it's attitude.

I could go along with the attitude thing. The way he finishes is what gets me. He goes up kinda nonchelantly (sp) and finishes with this half finger roll thing. Go up and stick it off the glass with two hands and make sure of it. It just pisses me off every time I watch him go up almost carelessly. I dont know if thats exactly what he thinks or whatever, but make sure of the two points!
