Point guard play?
How do you guys see this year's play at point guard? I personally hope we get a lot better at the position. If you look at any good college basketball team, you see a team led by a good one. I think D.G. can be that kind of player, but needs to improve--espicially when shooting free-throws, completing drives to the hoop and careless turnovers. Guard play is founding factor to us making the tournament this year. Go Cyclones!

Re: Point guard play?
I think the experience gained will be priceless, and if DG can finish, he will be a great asset to the team, because he can get to the basket at will. Buckley should be better too, and I love the change of pace that he provides. -

And Colvin. I don't expect him to take the spot over as a freshman, but I really hope that coach puts him in for some long stretches to see what he can do. Looks like we might have a lot of competition for all the guard play.

Re: Point guard play?
we have not had big 12 caliber play at that position for years. I'm not sure what one more summer of Capital City League play is going to do to improve that for us. Hopefully, Colvin can compete immediately.

Re: Point guard play?
I really think that Colvin has a shot to play a good amount of the time at pg come the middle of the season or the start of conference play. At the same time I see Buckley starting and DG moving to the two. I personally like Bucks game at pg more than DG's. I think Buck brings a gritty, intense type of play that I like to see from a point guard. We will be deep at this position for the first time in awhile, and we need it.

If DG isnt playing point he wont be playing, sad to say, his shot just isnt good enough. I think the PG play will be improved due to experence. Buck can make things happen and Colvin is suppose to do the same.

I expect Colvin to be the starting PG by the start of conference play.

Re: Point guard play?
I'd really like to see a guard who can post up on the outside and can hit that 18 foot jumper with someone in his face. It's been a while since we've had a guy who could do that.

Re: Point guard play?
With most of our guards able to handle the point I can see that McDermott will run a system that will have no true point. I think we'll end up with two or three guards in there with both handling the ball and running the offense. This year our offense needs to go through Brackins so having multiple guards that can deliver the ball low will be a huge benefit.
