It's hard to argue with him until we do something worth writing about. I like his analogy of Brackins this year to James Harden last year - if we start some winning, everyone will will know who CB is.
Overall the 9th pick is a little low I think, but he did have some good things to say about us, Craig more specifically. One place he noted how we have been plagued with terrible luck (injuries and defections) and the return of Staiger and addition of Gilstrap could be the missing pieces. I think there isn't any reason not to be excited about basketball this year
I think 7th-10th is a reasonable pick. That makes us surely a bubble team with a chance to get in depending on if we knocked off anybody big.
“Science investigates; religion interprets. Science gives man knowledge, which is power; religion gives man wisdom, which is control. Science deals mainly with facts; religion deals mainly with values. The two are not rivals. They are complementary.”
We will likely be a vastly improved team, but with the difficulty of our schedule and the toughness of the Big 12, it may not show up as much in our record and Big 12 standings.
That said, he did have a lot of good things to say about ISU and Brackins. I am pumped for basketball to start... I want to see some domination!!
Looking at that picture of Brackins...are we going to look like Minnesota again this year, or did they finally figure out the correct colors?
I thought I remember hearing that the BBall team is now a Nike elite member, so they can get any colors they want, like the football team, and not just the standard Nike colors.
Hopefully if some of these new players, i.e., Gilstrap, Dendy, Christopherson & Colvin will help take some of the scoring away from CB which will make the TEAM much better but will detract CB's 20 & 9 stats. That will benefit the TEAM in a BIG way!
I am okay with them picking us low. Gives the players an incentive to work even harder to prove them all wrong. It's a tough conference as we all know. I have no doubt that we will upset and/or scare the pooh out of some "luxury" teams. We have too much talent not to be competitive every game.
