Isn't he visiting KU on Late night? I've heard he wants to learn how to defend his turf before he gets to the league. That puts KU as the front runner.

In so many ways, I pretty much hate every school on Harrison's final 5 list. If he goes to Duke or UNC, I'll have to hope he loses every game. If he goes to Kansas, I'll have to hear about Kansas getting another Iowa player.
I actually don't hate Oklahoma, but I would hate to play against them. And while I don't like UCLA, you seem to hear less about the west coast teams in the media.

To be honest I thought Minnesota had one of the best shots at landing him. But to me a Duke or UNC would be a go figure like for everyone but if he ended up at Kansas and then coming to Ames to play us is what would eat at me.

You never burn a bridge in college sports. Even if he decides to go somewhere else, he could always get injured, have a falling out with the program, etc...(who knows, his coach could get caught drinking with Tigers). There is always a chance he could come back as a transfer.
This isn't just a HB thing, it's a whole recruiting thing.
I also agree with the point that it makes our players better. It we get a chance to practice against a wing player of his caliber, how does it not help us? We are getting as much out of him as he is getting out of us, a fair trade.

I talked to a pretty good Duke source this morning (I actually called about his interest in the Army job, his alma mater). He told me that the Duke staff feels they are running third in a two horse race when it comes to Barnes and the lead two are pulling away...

Chris Piper, Milt Newton, and Kevin Pritchard were the only guys other than Manning who averaged over 22 minutes a game for KU that season.
Of course, I don't think the Final Four is going to be at Wells Fargo any time soon. (It was at Kemper in KC in '88)

Re: Audio - Barnes in home visit speculation
Ron Kellogg and Greg Dreiling were on the Final Four team but not the National Championship team. Kevin Pritchard was probably the next best player on the NC team and he only lasted a couple of years in the league, but he is the currently General Manager of the Trail Blazers. They were a 6th seed so that took a lot of luck. In today's game it seems there are multiple NBA players on the NC team.
