Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
Love fest 09 beginning. Ha! Gilstrap seems like a great kid even off the court. That make me happy hes on the team as well.

"Jamaal Tinsley, an Iowa State rookie in the 1999-00 season, wasn't even a Big 12 newcomer choice - and he went on to become a first-round NBA draft selection."
Why/how is this relevant?

Drawing comparisons to the last huge transfer we had?

Hope that's the only thing he has in common w/Tinsley when it comes to his NBA career. Stay away from the guns, fights, strip clubs, and team banishment anyway

He probably thought that maybe Gilstrap hadn't received his check or new straight A transcripts in the mail yet and that's why he chose ISU over Kentucky :jimlad:
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
yeah, what the hell was up with the Calipari thing? That is just weird.
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
It feels so weird, reading nice things about ISU MBB sans Brackins from other coaches....
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
as a side note, my Mizzou friend went to a meet and greet with Mike Anderson, and when asked which Big XII team he thought was a sleeper this year, he answered ISU immediatey - citing Brackins returning, and a relative unknown player named Gilstrap.
I just hope we are not overhyping Gilstrap....
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
Watching practice...there isn't as much open space as there use to be. Kind of nice to have some size and muscle out there.
Re: Getting pumped to see Gilstrap
Is it me or does it just seem odd that other coaches and players made quotes like this about a JC transfer. I hope like hell the hype is true, but to me the fawning coaches is a bit strange.
