You have no idea what you're talking about. The only reason Gilstrap is at ISU is due to WJ's transfer. And if you look at next year's projected roster without Gilstrap, Brackins, and HB, you still have a talented roster with primarily 4 yr players (Phillips and Dendy being the exceptions), which is the way GMac said he would build the program all along.

Let's assume we make postseason this year and don't next year...that would be 5 years of McDermott and one postseason. That is "building a program". PLEASE!

I think what he was trying to say is that if you are really "building a program" should you have to be so reliant on a one-year JUCO 'bandaid' going into year four of your tenure? Or should you be playing older walkons over younger scholarship guys?

I really hope this season is an enjoyable and successful one because we really need it. Frankly, it is about damn time.

However, I do find it interesting that so many of the people on here that have always given us the 'it takes time' and 'we are building for the future' rhetoric seem to have decided to concentrate on this year only at this point. Actually, I'm glad to see this. I have always been of the mindset that you should live in the present.

Having said that, if you look at what next year might look like with no Brackins, no Gilstrap, and possibly no Barnes...the claim that McDermott is "building a program" seems to have a little bit of a hollow sound to it.

April 2006 GMac Day 1, Team consists of:
Marsden, Jiri, Jessan Gray, and Rahshon.

April 2010 (assuming no CB, no MG, no HB):
3 PGs with experience: Diante, Colvin, Buckley
3 SGs with experience: Scotty C, Lucca, juco recruit Phillips
3 SFs: RS Oliver, recruit Ejim, sr. Boozer
3 Bigs with experience: Dendy, Ham, Pomlee
+1 recruit to be named later.

num1 - it's time for you to simply shut the **** up. All you do is whine like a little girl about every damn thing - especially Greg. Blow some teams out (which even Wayne struggled to do) and still - complaining. The program is being built, even if your "expert" eye from hundreds of miles away can't see it.

Go give a Tiger an extra special rub-down, it would be a better use of your time - and, you'd enjoy it more.
