ZAGSBLOG C.J. Leslie May Wait Until Spring

North Carolina was supposed to come for an in-home visit, but cancelled because they decided instead to focus on Harrison Barnes, the nation’s No. 2 recruit.
“Roy [Williams] must feel pretty comfortable with Barnes because Coach [Steve] Robinson called us and they were saying they didn’t want to hinder C.J.’’s recruiting by putting us on hold to see whether Harrison Barnes was going to take the scholarship,” she said.
We have "the Closer" (Gary Thompson) working this deal for us. I'm not saying I'm confident, but I'm telling you it's (IMO) down to ISU and UNC.
Stranger things have happened
Duke fans think this is kind of a recruting tactic against Coach K because Roy is saying that he has stopped recruiting everyone for 2010 except HB while K is still talking with others (Roscoe Smith?). Personally, I think HB is wise enough to realize these schools need to keep in contact with others in case he doesn't go to their respective school and wouldn't see it as a slap in the face. Also, I'm pretty sure if UNC misses on HB, it would only take one call, etc. to have Leslie back on board if that is what Leslie wants.
This article called HB the #2 recruit - it's the first time I've heard that. Who do they think is #1?
He is probably just using the Rivals ratings which has Brandon Knight #1. BTW, I think this guy has been a UNC spinster in the past.
This is an example of the Leslie family saving face. UNC cut off contact with CJ Leslie at least a month ago because he's a selfish problem child.
If Gary closes this one, I will kiss him right on the lips.
An interesting development to be sure. Maybe part of the reason why Duke fans seem to think they are out of it.
We'll see what happens. I hate Duke. I hate Roy. I hate Kansas. I have a 3 out of 6 chance to be devastated next Friday.
I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to have Gary Thompson trying to influence HB (if it's legal), but I think NC, Kansas, Duke, etc can throw out a dozen guys a lot more famous and influential than Gary. I really don't think Gary will have much of an influence on what HB does.
