How should the admin/mods handle the HB announcement?

I am a little concerned about how the HB announcement will affect things on this board. I am concerned that passions are already inflamed, and things could get really bad depending on the nature of his announcement. Let's say -- purely hypothetically -- that he announces for Kansas. This could make for an epic meltdown, to the extent that it could even result in law enforcement attention. (The term is 'terroristic threats', and I once actually knew a guy who went to prison for that -- long story).

Anyway, humble suggestion is for the powers-that-be here plan for a cooling-off period of between 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the nature of the announcement. The site would become read-only (except by the mods, of course) during that period so people could cool off before posting things they might regret.

Or people should just exercise some sort of intelligence when posting?

If people can't control themselves, they really have more issues than just this. If a decision on a kid going to college involves the law enforcement for someone's actions, they should be locked up.

Is there going to be some sort of announcement regarding some of our games being in Hi-Def this season? That would be a nice change of pace from the ESPN+ crap.

I've had HD for over 2 years now. Shouldn't be a huge deal IMO.

Shouldn't we let the mods make that decision?

I hope they reach of the server off button and forget to hit reset for about 8 hours.

I'd shut down the site for at least 4 hours and spend the entire weekend rolling every Harrison Barnes post into a single thread.
