Re: Katz: Iowa State most improved in Big XII
Adrian is a complete moron. Every time he speaks I ask myself "did he here the question". K-state won't be improved over last season, in fact, I'd put them into the dropping back category. Iowa State will by far be the most improved team in the Big 12 if not the country.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

AMEN to that!!!!
Get even with them for 2000, and to make it hurt even more, because they will have the 8 point lead, and we will be the beneficiary of a "double foul" call. and we come storming back.
I can't see Izzo losing his mind like LE did, but that would be even more awesome. -

I hate K State as much as the next guy (**** you Steve Henson!!!!), but I don't agree with that at all.
It's a guards game, and they have good guards. Add the fact that they are recruiting like mothers, and I think that K sState, and Oklahoma State are the two coming programs in this league (along with Iowa State of course).
This year, and in years to come, league is going to be even more of a ***** to compete in...so we are going to earn that success that we will have.

OSU is going to be tough...Ford can coach and Pierre is a tremendous recruiter. They arleady signed the best player in Baton Rouge which is known for turning out a lot of very good players.

I'm not saying K-state won't be decent, but the question was "what team will be most improved. K-state went 22-12 last season. Do you really think they'll improve on that record? At the end of the season let's take last years records and compare them to this years and I'll bet ISU comes out the most improved.

Of course, we only won 14 games last year. I expect that number to be in the low to mid 20's this year,
Kansas State also played with a weak front court last year, and brought in a 5 star pf, so that improves their inside game. I think that they could win fewer games, and be remarkably better. A dangerous team to play in the NCAA.
I also think that this will be a year to get Okie State, because next year and after, they are going to be very very good.

Re: Katz: Iowa State most improved in Big XII
IMO, here's the 3 key elements to being the most improved team:
1. contributions of returning players
2. ability of newcomers
3. coaching staff's ability to develop players
Under this criteria, I don't see how KU isn't the most improved team in the conference. They return every relevant player from last season, bring in a top 5 recruiting class, and have a top 5 coaching staff.

Re: Katz: Iowa State most improved in Big XII
you also have to look at the starting point (i.e. last year's record). KU does not have room for improvement in the Big 12.

Are you even an Iowa State fan???
Do you root for Kansas when we play them??? I will bet that you do.
KU should be the best team in college basketball this year. But that doesn't mean anything in this debate.
Why do you feel the need to interject Kansas in this thread, especially one about most improved team in the conference. That makes no sense.

This may be true, but you can never count out a team with guards. Especially one that plays as hard as KSU does on the defensive end of the floor.
The effort they put forth last year reminded me of Tim Floyd's teams here at Iowa State.
