At any rate, a person's ability to graduate from any University in 3 years will largely be based on how many credits they enter with (I've heard Harrison will enter with quite a few) and whether or not they choose to accumulate credits during the summer (many athletes do). I would think that with the right plan, Harrison should be able to graduate from any of his choices in 3 years. Athletes get tremendous advantages from an academic standpoint at all the major athletic schools these days. They get scheduling preferences. They get tutors and support from some sort of academic center for athletes.
I think most of this is to help those guys that are "dumb as a box of rocks" stay eligible but if a guy is intelligent (as this kid apparently is), it is not unusual to see him graduate early and I have seen several get their undergrad degree and grad degree in the span of a five year career.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Some may interpret what Harrison is doing as being cruel, but it's a no win situation for Harrison.
I'm sure if Harrison had his choice he would choose to do all of this with no publicity whatsoever, but obviously that isn't an option. Yes, we're all under a lot of pressure, hoping and even praying that he chooses the Good Guys, put it pales in comparison to the pressure he's been under throughout the process.
I really hope he's "pulling a Hoiberg" and using the recruiting process to make a lot of friends among coaches, taking a lot of trips, and enjoying inside looks at the top programs in the nation. He is getting to see and do things in this process which would be a dream for most. Huh? Pressure?
Do you work for the MBB team? I certainly hope so because if you are just a fan and you are feeling "pressure" over the HB decision...well, that is just ridiculous.

According to a couple of Ames High coaches today, HB says he still has not made up his mind, or even picked two or three finalists. Even his closest friends apparently do not have a clue...

I am telling you, he is just finalizing things with Olympiakos in Greece. There has been a bit of a hang-up on whether the sinks in his yacht were supposed to be gold or platinum plated, but he expects that will be taken care of by Friday.

When I say "we're," I mean the collective fan base. A simple look at the number of threads over the last few years indicates that many have invested much into his decision, probably more than is necessary or healthy.
Personally, my number of posts in the so mentioned threads has been in the low single digits, so take that for what it's worth.
BTW, could you pass the Maalox, please? Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen. -

If he does end up in Greece, I hope he at least chooses AEK. -

Given all that I've heard about the type of person he is, this is what I'd expect him to do. What type of person turns down ESPN broadcasting their announcement? A stupid one?
Making this announcement on ESPN does not make Barnes unhumble. I'm sure what he says will be classy and humble. Who cares if he says it on ESPN. Condemning this kid for that is just silly.

A person could make a case that this is good for his future development as well, in the sense that he is likely to spend a whole lot of time on camera in his professional years. Might as well get some practice in now.

By the time that first call is done, the whole world will know what he said. The current plan is the best choice, for all, imo.

Remember, endorsements are about image. he wants to be a business major so he can manage his money and career no matter where he goes. he is getting major name recognition now that will follow him through his career in college. All of the announcers will salivate when he is on the court. He will have his choice of endorsements later. He probably is not doing it this way for this reason and the pressure has to be incredible no matter what the situation truly is. Very few people could handle this as well as he has and he could have a career as a CEO or even a politician with these skills. Very few people know how to keep things quiet. Only he knows and his family truly know the situation. I wish him well, he has a lot going for him in more ways than one. -
Re: Barnes today: all six teams still in running
Keep your eyes on the prize. Graduating is a nice thing and he will make the most of the opportunity, but his main goal is the NBA, not a sociology degree. His decision will be based on what will help him toward that goal.
Also, regardless of his humility, a big press conference is a marvelous idea. It gets tons of national attention before he ever plays a college game. This sort of before-the-fact attention is what it takes to get the big prizes.
