For so many years, Iowa State has been able to flirt with the knock-out at the bar but never able to take her home. (We about had her back home in 2000. The girl was in the back of cab with us having a good time when Mateen Cleeves and Morris Petersen swiped her away in a Range Rover. That was not a good night. Same goes for 2001, when out of nowhere that creepy dude with the eye-patch abducted her.)
This is the perhaps the most colorful yet accurate description of what transpired during those years.
"Today is perhaps one of the biggest chapters in Cyclone basketball history. It’s a “Where Were You When…” type of day"
I can't argue with this statement. As a freshman in 1975, I can remember going to a game in Hilton when there was less than 4,000 in attendance.
The Johnny Orr announcement was huge, because this was a coach only a couple years removed from taking his B10 Championship team to the Final 4. But his announcement as coach was a complete shock and surprise - it had no buildup, or anticipation since it was all done quickly, and in behind the scenes.
Perhaps you could say our 2000 B12 Championship was the biggest thing in ISU Basketball history. Or maybe others would say the 1957 victory over Wilt Chamberlain and KU.
I'd have to put the Harrison Barnes signing at the top from what I've seen in 34-years
"We are first and foremost an educational institution that values integrity, honesty and treating others with fairness and respect".
Yeah, thanks. Now I know why I did not make the connection I HAD burried that nightmare. Damn, now I will spend the rest of the day in the fetal position under covers.

I'm a little upset you made me utter that word. Plus, we have to see it in some highlight every March in an "upset segment".
I remember four or five years ago when I would play pick up games everyday at State Gym. I remember some kid came in, not even in HS but I remember he hit about every shot he took. He did a little bit of everything. Now, we weren't college players or anything, but he was still owning us in 7th or 8th grade. I was thinking, why hasn't anyone heard of him?
