Just curious but does anyone really think that Harrison had anything to do with the logistics of that event? News flash people, he didn't invite the public in...Ames High did. The only thing he is responsible for is his speech and the team he chose.

I don't blame him for his decision...not thrilled about the way he played it out though! And while I will never wish bad on someone...I really don't care about his career from here on out! I don't know him...he hasn't played for a team I have passion for yet...and he won't in the near future. So I just don't care about him now...but you can bet when/if UNC is being beaten by a cinderella team in the tourney...I will be rooting for cinderella! HB brings nothing to UNC for me personally so I will continue to feel the same way toward UNC, Duke, etc. HB owes me nothing...and I owe him nothing as well...
Point taken - but the fact that people on here are wishing bad things in the direction of HB for not choosing ISU is idiotic. HB made it clear along this recruiting trail that he wanted to go somewhere that he could SEROUSLY compete for a championship. Yep - George Mason and Miss State made it past the sweet sixteen, what, once? Of course it's possible for ISU to be a contender, but it's not his job to make ISU fans feel like we're relevant, it's the guys currently on the team. It's HB's job to do what's right for HIM.
I don't understand while everyone here feels Harrison wronged him like he was their best friend. He doesn't owe you guys anything, doesn't have to make you feel good about the way he does things. Harrison needs to be concerned with whether or not he is happy. Not making you guys happy. If it makes him and us happy at the same time, fantastic, but he didn't. Get over it.
He never made any promises to anyone, never promised the staff he would come to ISU if he could use their facilities, they let him in knowing full well there was no guarantee that he would pick us.
"Respect HB's decision and move on! He's still a part of the Ames community"
for those of you that grew up in Ames this idea may provide some sort of comfort or ability to cope with the situation. but for a lot of us (and i'm going to assume most that are extremely upset and being very vocal about it) we did not grow up in ames or go to AHS and HB being a part of the community is meaningless to us. His choosing not to be a member of the ISU MBB team and the way in which it seems he went about it is all that matters to us. Just because we and he(HB) are Iowans, does not mean that we are obligated to support him in any way.
What I'm really looking forward to is a few years down the road when he makes it in the NBA and starts getting the shawn Johnson treatment (someone else i'm told that I should like just because they too are from Iowa?) I'm sure, as they like to do so often, WHO will remind us of "the player that didn't go to ISU" is now tearing it up in the NBA.
To me, that would have been better than stringing ISU along for months.
HB is basically a really hot girl. Stick with me here. She,s been friends with Mike the boy next door all her life. She flirted with him and spent time with him and always made it seem like there was a chance that she would fall in love with him. Then, her junior year, all the senior football players notice how hot she is. She starts getting all of this attention. Instead of telling Mike that she really wants to date a popular boy, she keeps spending time with him, eats dinner with his family, and talks to him on the phone for hours at night.
Then a week before the prom, not only does she accept Johnny populars invitation to the prom, she does so it at Mike's locker, right in front of him, and makes out with Johnny.
Mike should just be happy for her and wish her the best, because they are friends?
Funny that nobody was complaining about Harrison being so close to ISU's program before his decision. It was a HUGE advantage for ISU that he got to be around our players & coaching staff so much over the last couple of years. Now all of a sudden that means he used us? The street runs both ways. Harrison certainly benefited from his contact with the ISU hoops team but let's not pretend that ISU didn't get anything out of the deal either.
By this logic, any high school player that ever plays a pick up game with current ISU players automatically has to choose the Cyclones even if he has other options, otherwise he was just using us. That's just silly.
