Not if he doesn't get playing time. I think he will and it's unlikely, but sometimes very good players can struggle to get on the field/court at big time programs.

If he were to get homesick or whatever, it's possible, is all I'm saying.

Good point. I expect to see a check to the national cyclone club in 3-4 years. Surely he can spare the bare minimum membership out of his millions in the nba.
