Not that gasoline needs to be thrown on the fire.......but everyone here does realize that coach he will be playing for, the one with the **** eating grin was the same coach who just smiled and and shrugged a fews years back when asked about Drew Gooden slamming the ball at mid court, and flipping everyone at Hilton off after KU finally beat ISU? Ironic......isn't it?

Before I continue...let me make one thing clear. I have absolutely no problem with him attending UNC. It's a great school with a great basketball tradition and a legitimate NC contender. It's a logical choice that many of us (admit it or not) would make.
However, the selfish, arrogant 17 year old in this kid really came through today. Welcome back to mortality, Harrison.
I've never seen anyone use an entire coach, program, University, and city to advance his own agenda than this kid has. Then to put on the spectacle he did was absolutely outrageous. You're going to invite the city of Ames and the ISU community, then skype Roy Williams? Seriously. He f**king skyped Roy Williams.
The thank you's to the other coaches and the whole speach was the most contrived and fabricated speech I've ever heard from a high schooler. He should have been focusing on a school with a good public policy program instead of a business school. Seasoned politicians can't spin a story that well in public. The special thanks to McD and Iowa State was a joke. I knew it the minute he said he'd always be a Cyclone Fan. Game Over. Thanks for the consolation prize, Harrison.
You know what's mature? Tell someone that you aren't considering that they're not in the running. Don't use their practice facilities and team to make yourself better. You know what's classy? Hold a private press conference without the public there to annouce your intention to attend another University. Be humble and don't put on a f**king Disney production at your press conference to attend an out-of-state school.
The kid can talk about grades, and saxophones, and choir, and god all he wants. He can be as well behaved and well spoken as he wants. At the end of the day, he's still a pompous teenager who loves the spotlight. Kids do that and it's fine. It's natural. However, the coverup is worse than the crime. The act is over. You are too smart not to know exactly what you were doing all along. Your actions as of late and your show today is twisted and sadistic. No one is buying it anymore, Harrison.
There is no way ISU was in the running until today. I will never beleive it.
This could be the best post of today.Well said.I agree 100%

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -

So if he would have eliminated ISU this week how many people do you think show up for his spectacle today? 100? Now how would that of looked on national television? He used the ISU fan base to promote himself today. His day will come.

Once again, ISU got used.

Re: Real sad Harrison
I haven't said anything about HB post-signing yet so here it goes.
I am disapointed he didn't come here. I am not mad that he didn't come here. What does make me mad is that it seems ISU was used to help him get into the #1 spot. He has been around college players for three years. He has grown to be a better bball player because of this. I don't know how real his intentions were to go here. There is no doubt we do not provide him the best chance to win. We do provide him a chance to become a legend. Maybe that does not matter to him. I think that today, in college ball, you have the chance to become just as good of player here as any "top-tier" program. I feel he could have gotten the same things here. He may not get a championship here, but who is to say he will get one there? What happens if he gets outplayed by some other studs they have recruited in recent years? That wouldn't happen here. I guess as far as winning, he made the right choice. As far as himself, I don't know that he did.
I also hated they way he did this. It feels to me like he tried to make Ames feel better by inviting them to join him in crushing us. You may say he is 17, he didn't know better. I don't know how he could do this. He knew it wasn't going to be ISU. Why invite the public in which ISU is located? What is the point? Was it to hype himself? Was it to make himself feel important? I will gaurentee that a vast majority of the people in attendance were not there to support him, but to celebrate him in the event he chose us. He did not. I just cannot fathom, at the age of 17, having the maturity he has shown, that he could do this to us. He knows that for the last several years we have been excited and in some cases obsessed with him being a Cyclone. Idon'tknow why he did this how he did, but I think it lacks class. I think it was sort of a cheap shot to people who showed up to the signing. I am not saying he is a bad kid. What I am saying is whoever set this up either didn't think about what they were doing, or didn't care. I don't know who was in charge. I know they didn't know who he was picking, but odds were it wasn't ISU. If it were and it was a private signing, then I doubt Cyclone Nation would have been less excited.
This is just my 2 cents.

What people are angered about is that the ISU community appears to have been used badly. Sure HB will play against top tier talent and use the ISU facilities, and go to sporting events, but commit? Nah. Also, when it was time to make a decision, did he discourage ISU fans from being props? Nope. Seems he even wore an ISU sweatshirt just the other day when other Ames athletes signed their LOIs. Talk about sending a signal.
At some point HB and his family will take a step back and realize just how badly they handled things and how much they took for granted their community.
ISU comes out of this thing looking like a chump, especially the fanbase. They have every right to be angry.
And I am sick and tired of HB fanbois trying to tell Cyclone fans how they should react and vent. You want to talk HB in a positive light? Find a UNC board. I am sure there are plenty of them.
Well said.

Re: Real sad Harrison
Anyone saying HB used us is stupid. How should he have gone about it?
And the whole thing about the ISU shirt is irrelevant. You're going to tell me you thought he was going to ISU because he wore a SHIRT to school? He wore Duke the next day.

Re: Real sad Harrison
I will also say this. I don't care if he is a Cyclone fan. Not one bit. I have been a Cyclone fan my entire life. I was not put in the position, but if I had a choice to play football at Florida or ISU, I would have chosen ISU, no doubt in my mind. That's what a supporter of the University does. I am sure he will be in Hilton at some point and I don't think it will be a pleasant experience for him. I don't condone harrassing him, but I don't control everyone.
I would bet that before he got to be such a big deal, he wanted to be a Cyclone. I bet when he was in 8th or 9th grade he would have jumped at the chance to be a Clone. I think it comes down to bells and whistles. We don't have that here. What we do have was diluted on him since he has seen it so many times.
I wish the kid the best, but hif he gets to UNC and something doesn't work out, I do not welcome him here. He isn't a #1 recruit who was considering us and turned us down. He is a #1 recruit from the town ISU is locared in who seems to have used us to better his position and decided he was too good for us. To good for us now, fine. Don't think you can waltz back into town and just have a poistion on this team.

. By not inviting public (most of which were ISU fans) and then throwing Roy's ugly mug up via skype.

He also did it to a wife that had already been cheated on several times in the last year (Chizik, Cael).
