I wish him the best of luck but he is not a cyclone and never will be a cyclone and he admitted that himself today on ESPNU. So if anything he should be moved to the general college or off topic section, he has nothing to do with cyclone athletics anymore.
We have to move forward without him, he is an after thought!!! Threads merged.
I understand your concern, but CF won't be doing that. First of all, it would be a moderating nightmare to go back through four years worth of data and remove all HB-related posts, threads, social group items, and so on. In fact, it would be impossible and totally impractical for a group of mods who donate their time to do so.
From a personal standpoint, not related to site moderation: your point about moving forward is very important, but another reason to leave the HB-related info on here is that it's a victory that ISU was even on the same table yesterday with some of those other programs. Celebrate the fact that the integrity of this program and its coaching staff made us even a contender rather than hating on HB.

Re: Front page of CF: Can we remove HB please?
HB is a huge story, and one that DRIVES TRAFFIC. I wouldn't expect the HB info to go away.

This is Cyclone Fanatic and not HB fanboi central. I think Mr. Barnes has already gotten plenty of mileage out of ISU already.
Thanks in advance.
You have my support, time to move on.

Re: Front page of CF: Can we remove HB please?
He won't drive traffic much longer, anyway. He was a great recruiting story, now he's signed somewhere else, and his story will naturally die out. It's just how things work.
I'm with Angie. Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. We were in this thing until the end, or near the end. Now we prove ourselves without him.

We don't just forget about it. This is a RECRUIT that we lost! A recruit! That never happens. Every recruit until now has always chosen ISU, this is unprecedented. We should, no, we must cry on this message board until we have no more tears left, it's the only thing to do to make sure nothing like this will ever happen to us again.

Dude, that's just asking for trouble all over the place.
We all know that we've lost recruits beforel we all know that this guy was a special situation. Don't be that guy right now.

Even when I somewhat agree with you cmoneyr, I still don't like the way you post. Why take the opposite approach to the over the top negative posters?

He's just another recruit at the end of the day. No one recruit is going to make or break the team, so why should we spend so much more effort crying over this lost one as opposed to all of the others?

Thanks for letting the rest of us know.....who aren't in the know.

The difference between this and say a Glen Rice is that it was in our own town. BTW, where was our governor to step in and give a vote of confidence to keep HB in the state. As I recall, the Michigan governor had some commentary on the Glenn Rice recruiting.

I agree, it's a special case, but does that warrant people wishing injury on him? Wishing he lose all his games and have a crappy NBA career? Telling people to go to Ames games to boo him? If you say yes to any of those then I can't help you, but it reeks of sour grapes, and is a really poor light to shine on ISU and its fans. Be the bigger people, take the high road, the air is nice up here.

My hope is all the "venting" is over next week and we are focused on signed and/or verbally committed recruits to talk about.
I don't consider it a victory we were on the same table yesterday. His circus he put on (and never once mentioning Mac as he did with all the other coaches) proved we were only a courtesy consideration.
As a fan he (or his Mom) should of realized the kick to the nuts this decision would be to ISU and not handle it the way they did yesterday. I lost a lot of respect for him yesterday.

2. Wishing him to lose games is the same thing me as a Fan of ISU always wishes UNC. He is now apart of UNC and I wish him the same. This reeks of nothing and is not sour grapes.

It's out there.

I agree, people not wanting UNC to win is no big deal, who cares about UNC. But to specifically say someone wishes this one kid will not win games and not have a career afterwards is petty at best.
