we have no chance at Jok, he's going to be too good, Barnes put us in our place, I hope we all realize that now.

Re: Future Basketball Recruit
Peter Jok, or as they call him just Pete. Very athletic kid. Freshman at Roosevelt high school... kid is friggin amazing. I never saw HB play as a freshman, but this kid is the real deal.
Although if we offer him a scholly Jake will just tell him to wait like he did for HB... and look what happened.

Re: Future Basketball Recruit
Absolutely! Get right back in the game and keep recruiting great players.

Re: Future Basketball Recruit
Would there be any legal way to prohibit Roy from entering Iowa? The legislature has come up with with much dumber things, so why not?

So we tried and failed. Big deal! We will likely try for players out of our league again, and fail. Sooner or later, one of them will pick us.

I've come to the realization that Iowa State can never compete head to head with the elite programs for recruits. Doesn't mean they can't still have good teams. And I am not suggesting they don't go after the kid. I am merely acknowledging I have zero hope for landing him.

So, we've done it once..........

Why would you count us out 2-3 years before he makes his choice. Really??? We always have a shot until proven otherwise. For all we know some recruits read this board. Maybe that's why we can't land the big one because a few of our fans always think and post the worst. How bout taking the glass half full attitude!!
I have confidence in Coach Mac and his staff!!

Schools weren't sure about his prep school Boys to Men Academy in Chicago. It was an online school for basketball players, plus he reclassified once already while in California. Craig made the good decision to go to Brewster Academy and get everything straightened out. He has been a great ambassador for Iowa State University and will forever be remembered as one of our greatest basketball players.
As for Jok, he has been to several football and basketball games at Iowa State, but I'm just saying don't get your hopes up. he has duke, kansas, north carolina, kentucky written all over him and with Luol Deng being his cousin, well you get the picture. And lets not forget the little tar heel from Ames is probably already prepping him for Roy's love tap.

If we go into everything assuming we can't win, why do we bother to compete?
Line 'em up, and let's take our shot.

Line 'em up, and let's take our shot. Agreed. adopt a defeatist, non-elite mentality, and you will be confined to mediocrity
