Re: Props for Hawkeye basketball from ESPN
ICE? Pressure their guards and Iowa may not get the ball past mid court - pressure in their face and we won't need to worry about how our big guys are doing!
Re: Props for Hawkeye basketball from ESPN
You know, I've said this before, but while being positive about ISU bball is certainly understandable, remember... ISU hasn't had a winning season in 4 years, and at one point was losing by 30 points to Iowa last year.
And it's not like ISU is without embarrassing losses... SDSU?
I'd much rather both teams in the state return to the solid programs they were in the 90s. Basketball was SO much more fun when both teams had something to play for than it is now. Getting Hilton and Carver back to what they once were is nothing but great news for the state, and basketball fans in general.

You left out the part where UNI is going to start getting in-state players over Iowa.

That's one of the biggest differences I think we'll see with this year's ISU team. We'll win the games we're supposed to win. Had we done that last year, we would have probably made the NIT and called it a decent year.
I just don't see that in Iowa this year. They are where we were a couple of years ago...little experience and little athleticism; too many defections.

No they won't.
Re: Props for Hawkeye basketball from ESPN
Oh don't worry about ISU, we're there and yes the team remembers last year. We'll make amends for the Iowa game. Sadly, your team has a few more years to climb out of the D1 cellar.

I don't get your screen name and picture. Are you supposed to be an iowa fan and an ISU fan? Just asking because you might be the biggest Hawkeye homer on this board...

I also call BS on Iowa being up by 30 last year. It was 34-32 at the half, and the final score was a 16 point margin.
I know it wasn't a game but I don't remember it being that kind of margin...correct me if I'm wrong.
Re: Props for Hawkeye basketball from ESPN
Just looked it up...biggest margin was 65-40.
Bigger than I remember, and still a butt-kickin'.
Re: Props for Hawkeye basketball from ESPN
Anyone think Brackins will have more than 6 pts. against Iowa this year?
Wow, what a horrible game he had; glad he got it out of the way against Chicago St. this year, and glad we have people around him to pick up the slack this year.

Yes, I'm a fan of both. Please call me out if you ever see me post a negative word about ISU.

I never even see you talk about Iowa State. Period. You're on Herkey's jock all the time...

SI is one of the good guys around here, and I think has inched closer and closer over to the ISU side of things as time goes by. He's still a Hawk fan, but rational.

Maybe that's because you read too many Iowa threads?
