Re: Street ball players
I think everyone is joking about these streetballers playing D1 basketball. I'm not sure anyone is being serious in posting these...

Re: Street ball players
Streetball isn't true basketball. Theres a reason they are playing streetball and not organized basketball.

Re: Street ball players
Most people are kind of dumb. You realize how many guys in the NBA play "street ball" right? Tons of them. The only difference is that they are smart enough to know to not do fancy tricks ALL the time.
Go to Rucker Park for the tournament every year and you'll see a few teams full of NBAers.
Let's not forget the last time we made the tournament was with a team with a handful of streetballers on it. Not saying it's good, just food for thought

Or the fact that Kobe competes in Rucker pretty much ever year with other NBAers?

No offense, but the people who think that nobody in the NCAA and NBA ever play street ball need to get out more. You think guys from NYC or Chicago are usually going to basketball shooting camps starting when they were 3 years old? get real.

Re: Street ball players
Many of our good teams have had a street baller or two (Stevens, Tinsley, Pratt, Bankhead, Stinson, etc.).

Re: Street ball players
Here are some "famous" streetballers:
Wilt Chamberlain - speaks for itself
Kareem Abdul Jabar - speaks for itself
Julius Erving - speaks for itself
Earl Monroe - speaks for itself
Nate Archibald - speaks for itself
Allen Iverson - speaks for itself
Rafer Alston - has been playing the last 11 years in the NBA and is known as Skip to My Lou for AND1
Stephon Marbury
Jamaal Tinsley
Jamaal Mashburn
Kevin Garnett
Sebastian Telfair
Of course there's:
Stinson, Blalock, and Rahshon Clark who were all ballers
Tons more to list. One of the guys for AND1 also lead the NCAAs in scoring sometime in the 90s and a number of the guys play in amateur-pro leagues. A number also played in college, D1.
Seriously, most any NBA guy growing up in the inner city is going to learn how to play ball by playing "street ball." Their parents aren't exactly signing up their kids for the Greg McDermott Basketball Camp. They play all day in the summer with their friends. It's how it happens. Visit a place like NYC or Chicago and see for yourself.

The And 1 you see on TV is garbage thas all iam saying. And this list of guys, some of them are smart also so they can bring a little bit of that streetball to the game. Stinson, Blalock, Clark maybe ballers but you dont hear about them in the NBA. Sebastian Telfair ..enough said

"And this list of guys, some of them are smart also so they can bring a little bit of that streetball to the game" -- really? I listed about 5 or 6 hall of famers in that list FYI. Two of the top five greatest players of all time too.
Of course AND1 is though..it's an entertainment league. It's fun as hell to watch. You aren't supposed to watch it and flip out that someone ran an illegal screen. That would be like watching the Globetrotters and being ****** off that they're ******* around. Some of those guys though are actual players.
As I said before, most guys who don't grow up in the "best" situations grow up learning "street ball." They play it and then when they get a little bit older they start getting organization on their games from coaches.
And Sebastian Telfair is still in the NBA. Guess what? Only 15 guys per team make that league. It's possibly the hardest league to make. You think some guy is paying him $2 million for no reason? It's not like the NFL where there's like 75 people per team. They could easily get rid of someone not good enough for the NBA and replace them with someone better.
