Re: Parrish: What if Johnson would've never left
what if Larry wasn't a drinker and fizer returned for a senior year. Likely we would have a big 12 dynasty.

Re: Parrish: What if Johnson would've never left
Wesley was a no name recruit that no one wanted. McD took a chance on Johnson and he used us as a stepping stone.

Others stayed and are improving. Not sure how GM is the issue?

If it was GM's fault WJ left, then I'm sure Brackins would have left last year as well. Not only did that say a lot about Brackins as a Cyclone, but also showed that GM is running the right program and treating his players well. If GM is so mean and nasty and doesn't care about his players, then Brackins probably would have left for the NBA to make millions.
EDIT: add Lucca to that list as well.

He also admitted changing his coaching style and player relations after Wes left...

Re: Parrish: What if Johnson would've never left
He wouldn't of got picked up by anybody if it weren't for GMAC he would of been at some mid major scoring 20 points

Thats what kills me. Someone gave him a chance and as soon as he got some recognition he bolted. Its almost as if he just needed to get that spotlight for his plans to move on.

Re: Parrish: What if Johnson would've never left
After a few years noone will care about WJ anymore. It just still stings a little now. We have plenty of seasons ahead with Kansas screwing us over in play that will help us forget. ;)

That being said, I'm happy he changed and seems to be relating to the players better.

Wesley was a very popular player with his teammates here - he's also very popular at Syracuse. That tells me something was amiss between GMac and Wesley that we don't know about.

Re: Parrish: What if Johnson would've never left
Add to the "what if..."
What if Taggart hadn't transferred? We could have theoretically had Taggart, WJ, and Brackins in our frontcourt this year.

No ****, thats why he left. But it appears that the others were able to sac up and realize that McD might know something they dont.
