Kansas and Texas are in a league of their own but #3-#8 in the Big XII is up for grabs. I am really hoping we can overachieve and finish 4th or better.
KU almost lost one to Memphis already, and they couldn't score in that one. Texas hasn't played anyone yet, and won't until North Carolina on 12/19 (USC and Iowa don't count). I'd say, in complete honesty, that ISU has looked better than KU has after four games. And it's really tough to know what Texas has right now.
Don't want to get my hopes up too much yet, but ISU has upperclassmen, and a great set of physically mature front court players(Brackins, JVB, Dendy, Gilstrap), and a core set of players that can make open shots. And that's worth a lot in league play. They need to do something about the free throws now, though.
It's early in the year. Lets see how the next three weeks shake out. I'm not one to drink the kool aid, but I can't help but be impressed with this team so far. They're much better than i anticipated.
