... can't say much about the current team, but they have a very nice new (1 year old) home arena. They are very young this year and haven't had a real test yet. I look for ISU to win by >10.

That would be awesome. We are now getting to the part of the schedule that wins by 1 are just fine with me.

winning the tough ones will take some cleverness and craft. We won't blow everybody out - do we know how to win the close ones? (rhetorical question - please don't answer)

Don't forget SLU has Rick Majerus - this will be a great coaching test for Coach Mac

    Re: St. Louis

All I know about St. Louis is that they apparently beat Nebraska. They could be a slightly better barometer for us than the teams we've been facing, at least until Saturday.

I think they might have a "deep" bench but not 100% sure. Maybe I'm just misinformed as I've never seen them play before.

    Re: St. Louis

i posted this in the post game thread, but I'll repeat it here.

They are very VERY young. They don't have a single Jr or Sr on the roster.

They also don't have much size. Their starters are 5'10", 6'3", 6'3", 6'6" and 6'9". Their first two subs are 5'9" and 6'2".

I think their best player is the post, Willie Reed, he's averaging a double double.

They were balanced through their first 3 games, with all 5 starters averaging double figures.

Not according to the stats. They have only played 8 guys significant minutes and the three guys off the bench haven't done much.

I'm looking forward to these next two games. Should be much better tests than the first 5.

Kwamain Mitchell scored 20 points and Saint Louis hit three of its seven 3-pointers in successionChristian Salecich added 11 points and had three 3-pointers, two in an 11-0 run

Mitchell, part of a lineup featuring one freshman and four sophomores, was 7-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 from 3-point range.

Saint Louis survived a prolonged drought at the end of the first half, scoring only two points on 1-for-12 shooting in the final 7:34 and settling for a 28-27 lead. Nebraska failed to capitalize, scoring only seven points during that stretch.

Wouldn't worry about Majerus. He has size but is not very mobile.
