Re: Colvin
Agree with the statements about Colvin. I thought Boozer was trying to do a little too much also. I see his confidence growing but I also see some questionable shots he's been taking. I know he wants to work himself into the lineup more but he just needs to relax a bit. He's so scrappy around the rim that I can see him getting some solid put backs there.

Re: Colvin
He is a freshman that is probably trying to do a little to much, and a little out of control at times. I think Mac and maturity will help that. Colvin is going to be extremely good in a year or two, and very fun to watch. I love his tenacity and his confidence in his game!

He's a true freshman. Relax!

Re: Colvin
In last nights game he grabbed an offensive rebound. When is the last time an ISU point guard got one of those?
There were a couple of times he just lost the handle on the ball. I just attribute that to him being a freshman. I was surprised GMAC left him in as long as he did but by leaving him in I hope he got it out of his system. I would say there are still a lot more positives then negatives with Colvin.

Stinson had the teardrop. Blalock has the fast break magic. Tinsley just made people look like fools. DG is a drive and dish type guy.
Nobody but HB knows for sure. You pretty much know nothing....like Knownothing would like to say.

I imagine we'll find out this weekend. My gut tells me that's exactly what's happening, and that's not a knock on Colvin; it's just a reflection of the difficulty of being a freshman point guard. I think he's getting experience in these safe games, and Buckley will be playing more as we go on. I think, since he's so smooth out there. He always seems in control.

He will absolutely be a great one for us, and one that the entire conference hates to see coming. -
Re: Colvin
He's got a really nice shot and can make people miss when he drives the lane. He just needs to take care of the ball a little better and look for dish offs and he's going to be a really good guard for us.

Ah the game by game emotions of a fan base! Got to love it
Colvin struggled last night. No doubt. But he is still the best PG we have at getting to the paint, getting a guy to help, and dishing it to the open guy. He doesn't have the feel out there that DG does at this point but he possesses everything else and he is a great athlete.
There is a reason he is getting a lot more minutes then Buckley. He is better

Re: Colvin
Yea, his ball-handling looked VERY bad last night but he was consistantly driving into double and triple-teams. Being the fact he didn't get pulled out of the game, it tells me he was not trying to do too much, he was doing what the coaches wanted him to do. I really believe they were telling him to attack a lot just to get him comfortable, see where his game is at, and just let him have the minutes and the ball. I liked it. Obviously, I didn't like the turnovers but the great thing is it looks like for the next couple years, our point guards really aren't going to need to score. With the shooters we have, the point guards are going to have the similar roll that JC Holloway had, ball control and find the open guy. Overall, he's a freshman in his 5th college game, NO WORRIES. Does anyone remember the first few games we saw from Tinsley, SCARY.

A week ago Colvin is a stud. Now he is a freshmen who needs to understand the game better. We need to put Buckley in sooner, etc. What changed? He had one bad game. One bad game means you aren't ready to play meaningful minutes yet.... I guess.
That's all I am saying. Colvin stunk last night. I am not worried. He has great talent and would anybody be surprised if he played great against SLU on Friday?

Re: Colvin
Hopefully Colvin plays well in his hometown - he's probably played 20 games at UIC.
