a ton of people r saying Buck will get more min in big games, but GMac said we will play 9-10 people so thats the starting5 colvin, scott, JVB, Dendy, and take your pic of booz or buck.....i think it will b booz.....just my hunch bc he has more min so far. colvin will drop to the 8th man when dendy is back tho (right now he is the 7th man scott is the 6th with JVB the8th)

Colvin and Dendy play 2 totally different positions. Colvin won't lose any minutes to Dendy.

JVB will be the one losing minutes

Colvin had one bad night -- He is going to be a great great player for Iowa State!!! I wish there would be threads about the other 11 guys who played incredibly last night.

Colvin is a great player. He had a freshman game last night, but he is way further ahead than DG was as a freshman. With DG teaching him, Colvin is going to be something very special before his ISU career is all done.

wasnt talking about min i was talking about who came off the bench 1st. also i know 1 plays PG the other PF but they r the guys who bring a spark to the team, so they sort of play the same role....sort of.... good D, good at running the floor....

I see. I still think Colvin comes off the bench at the same time/place. I think it is JVB who will be the one coming in later

Colvin struggled last night. No doubt. But he is still the best PG we have at getting to the paint, getting a guy to help, and dishing it to the open guy. He doesn't have the feel out there that DG does at this point but he possesses everything else and he is a great athlete.

There is a reason he is getting a lot more minutes then Buckley. He is better

I agree, but not to knock Buckley as he has improved from last year. I also think buckley will make a difference by not turning the ball over, and running the O. Colvin is going to just plain be a difference maker!!

I see a lot of similarities between Colvin and Blalock. I'm excited to see him develop.

But what happens next year when we bring in Philips? We have DG, DB, CC, DP, SC, and Staiger (if he comes back). Maybe we revolutionize college basketball and start a 4 guard line-up with Big Ham in the middle? :biggrin:

A week ago Colvin is a stud. Now he is a freshmen who needs to understand the game better. We need to put Buckley in sooner, etc. What changed? He had one bad game. One bad game means you aren't ready to play meaningful minutes yet.... I guess.

That's all I am saying. Colvin stunk last night. I am not worried. He has great talent and would anybody be surprised if he played great against SLU on Friday?

Las night Buckley would have played more if it was against a better team. Colvin didn't have it last night. It happens...will again.
