Re: IF we beat SLU will potential ND game be on TV?

Basketball TV schedules are set way in advance, even before the season starts. It's rare that games get picked up on the fly nationally, regardless of how well the teams are doing. ISU, and any school for that matter, needs to win fairly consistently from year to year to get on TV more. Being picked to finish 8th in the conference hasn't helped our TV cause any.

You people just don't get it. The Big 12 is set up for some schools to succeed at the expense of others. Take a look at this:

TEXAS LONGHORNS Official Athletic Site - Men's Basketball

Texas has 100% of their games on TV including such gems as:

UC Irvine @ Texas, Long Beach State @ Texas, Western Carolina @ Texas - ESPNU

Texas @ Rice - CBS College Sports

Texas State @ Texas, Texas Pan American @ Texas, Gardner Webb @ Texas - Texas Corpus Christi @ Texas - Longhorn Sports Network
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

Even if it means no TV I would like to see ISU and ND both win on Friday and then match-up on Saturday. And again -- on the bright side -- if we do play ND on Saturday this will be the last game of the year that is not televised.

Would the ESPN fullcourt package show it?? I'm thinking of getting it if they show many of our games we can't see.. anyone had success with this? Will they show very many games that we can't otherwise see?

If you live in central Iowa where you can watch games on the Cyclone Television Network, having the Fullcourt package will be a waste of money.

Yeah, because NO COVERAGE is better than Clone Zone??? Uhhh... the promoter is an IDIOT.

I hope we get into a tournament next season that has TV coverage.

The ND won't be on, plain and simple. If you live in CHI you should pick up Full Court as there will be 18 games on the rest of the year.

Of course they are, Texas was a preseason top 5 team.

Also, WCU @ Texas being on ESPNU has NOTHING TO DO with the Big 12. Also, it's not much different than our game against NDSU which is on ESPNU.

The only games of ours that are not broadcast on any TV are the games this weekend, which is the fault of the tourney promoter, not ISU or the Big 12.

Yes, if you don't live in an area with a Cyclone Television Network affiliate, then ESPN FC is a great choice.

This link tells you what carries every game. All the games with 'ESPN FC' are on full court.

That had nothing to do with Iowa/Iowa State or how good Iowa was. That game was on TV because it was part of the CBE Classic in KC.

If your internet provider provides ESPN 360 access and you don't mind watching on a computer (or connecting computer to TV), the fullcourt package is a waste of money.

How does this get blamed on the Big 12 TV package?

This isn't a conference game or a home game? Last I checked, that means the Big 12 and ISU have ZERO rights in deciding if the game will be broadcast. This tournament decides the TV rights.

I disagree. It's only like a hundred bucks and the quality is better and I can't live without my dvr. So much easier to see the replays they way you want them when you want them.

Not a total waste of money.
