1-18
Combined record of the teams we have played this year against D1 competition.
Idaho St 1-4 (0-4 against D1)
Chicago St 3-2 (0-2 D1)
Drake 1-4
MVSU 1-4 (0-4 D1)
Tenn ST 0-4
Now come the real games. We only have 3 "gimme" games the rest of the year. Iowa, North Dakota, and North Dakota St.
Hard to tell what this team is going to do when they play a team that actually plays some defense and keeps it close with ten minutes to play. Who is going to step up and take the big shot if needed? Especially if they collapse on Brackins. Personally I feel comfortable with anybody taking the shot and that is what is so great about this team. 9 guys that you feel comfortable when they are on the court.
One other thing I was thinking about and think this really helps to keep our team hungry, but almost everyone on our team has something to PROVE this year.
Brackins - made the right choice to come back to Iowa State and win
Gilstrap- That he is a big time player and a guy NBA scouts should watch
Christopherson- That his short season at Marquette was not a success due to injury rather than the type of player he is
Staiger- That he is better than last year's injury plagued season
Garrett- That he can be considered one of the top PG's in the conference
Dendy- That he was worthy of his early HS ranking
A lot of guys with chips on their shoulders and that should make it easier for McDermott to motivate them and teach them

Get out of here with your putting our blowout wins in perspective!

Don't get me wrong I am as excited about this team as anybody here. We have looked great, but you have to be a realist and ask yourself if it is because of us, them, or a little of both?
We will find out on Friday. A double digit victory over SLU would be great!!

Re: 1-18
While we haven't played good teams we have crushed them this year. In the past we have always lost or had teams hanging with us no matter how good they were. IMO that is a huge difference this year to previous years.

Re: 1-18
I know we are better than last year. That's about all I know. We'll know soon how much better.

Those cucake teams are the reason I have 14 million credits, so quit whining!

Personally, I'll be quite surprised if we get through this weekend unscathed.
