Some people might be disappointed in not having a shot to beat a ranked Notre Dame team. I know I am a little bit. However, the score was 72-58 in favor of Northwestern, and it means they seem to be a pretty solid team themselves. Winning this next one might be a better win than some might have originally thought.

PREDICTION:

This seems to have the makings of two outcomes (in my opinion); either a close victory or a blowout, both in favor of the Cyclones. NU proved to be a good team when they beat ND, but was it a fluke? I don't think so. I think NU will play us tough coming off of a big win and carrying a little bit of swagger. However, Mr. Brackins and company will have something to say about the outcome of the game, and the Cyclones will win their closest contest of the season.

I think they come down a little from their ND victory, and we step up some more from our St. Louis game.

Their defense looks like something that we can shred over and over and over.

I look to get back over that 80 point mark.

It will probably be low scoring, at least lower than most of our other games. Probably in the low to mid 60's. I'd say 67-62 ISU.

If they're missing shots and we're running, it's going to be a lot of easy transition buckets (translated: dunks) before they can even set the zone.

I'm looking for a score similar to tonight's game....NU will likely slow things down and limit possessions. I think they played above their ability tonight, and won't tomorrow. I believe we played below our ability tonight, and won't tomorrow.

That is one thing I really like about this team, that we can play either way. If we're running, fantastic. If we're playing halfcourt, that's fine, too.

I think this looks like a fun matchup for us.

Well, seeing that Notre Dame waxed everybody they played by around the 20 point mark, (give or take a few) and 7-0 before tonight...
