This is one of the reasons I think this weekend is a fluke. Unless CB lost all his skills around the rim overnight well he is going to have to play good for most games for us to be good. This weekend wasn't a fluke.

Re: Craig Brackins This Weekend
I think we lost the lead when we decided to abandon our normal offense (which gets everyone involved) and instead focused on getting the ball into Brackins about 12-14 feet from the hoop. I've always felt that Brackins is about a 35% career shooter at best from outside of 12 feet. Last year we didn't really have any other options when the game was on the line so we took our chances with Brackins and his mediocre outside shot. But this year, I believe GMAC needs to stick with our normal offense (including Gilstrap) at the end of the game as I think that will give us the best chance to win close games. If we didn't learn enough from all those close losses last year, I hope the Northwestern loss has finally shown GMAC that being one dimensional is going to cost us more games than it will help us win.

He needs to get back to his old self

Re: Craig Brackins This Weekend
CB did look off last night, and he did sit quite a bit. I was surprised how much Gilstrap sat too. It seemed like ISU got up by 10 in the second half and GMac pulled all the offense off the floor. When they got back in, CB and Gilstrap couldn't get it going.
First game I saw and the thing I couldn't figure out was Christopherson being out there instead of Boozer or Buckley or anyone that plays guard. He was having a horrible night on both ends of the floor.

Re: Craig Brackins This Weekend
When you see Brackins miss an alley-oop, you know he isn't having his best night.

Shooting wise? Yes it was. I've seen every single game we've played so far this year. It's not like the last few years where we weren't making shots even against crap opponents with bad defense. I know a good shooting team when I see one, and this team is a GOOD SHOOTING team. Believe me. I guarantee you it was a fluke. I saw on against SLU missing wide open 2 foot shots that have been automatic for people like CB every game in the past.
Now if it continues onto next week, then maybe i'll change my mind. Until then, it was a fluke in my mind.

He was also off against SLU big time. He missed the same shots as he did against NWern.
This weekend was a fluke, I'm 99.9% certain of it. It just wasn't his weekend and others for that matter such as Christopherson

And he still scored nearly 20 ppg.
He's started slow each year. He'll be fine, like you said.

Re: Craig Brackins This Weekend
Brackins will be fine.
A lot of people have wondered why Gilstrap sat so much in the 2nd half (including myself). I did hear someone mention that he got a little banged up and had to sit for a while. Don't know how true that is. We need Gilstrap's energy and offensive spark.

I saw Gilstrap rotating his wrist and wincing as he did it, indicating that it was bothering him. Perhaps that was it? It was his shooting hand, too.
