Who will Doug Mcdermott be rooting for

I assume he will be at the game on Wed. He is in an akward position. Next year I am sure he will be down with the purple. It would however be kind of weird to root against you dad in a game that you are not playing in.

I think he's allowed to take a "neutral" standpoint this time around.

It'll be harder on Greg next 4 years. Perhaps not a true "conflict", but it has to tug at the heartstrings a bit. Want your kid to do well and his best - but be in a position that you have to do what you can to prevent it.

Until he is actually playing for UNI, I would assume he would be rooting for Dad.

Greg is a true competitor. I am sure he will have no problem telling an ISU player to "take him out!" if Doug is killing us in a couple years!

I won't claim to know anything about the inner-workings of the McDermott household.... but if it were a choice between I and some off-spring, I'm pretty sure my wife wouldn't care if I got run over by a Mack Truck in the process...

(Not to mention - GMac is signed through 2015, so she's pretty well setup)

This will be Tre's last year rooting for the Cyclones vs UNI, it will be Go Dougie for the next 4....

At the same time the wife has a million dollar a year paycheck to worry about. With her son it's one loss and on to the next game. So This is one case she might want her hubby to stomp the panthers. She can root for her son to play a good game. Just not good enough to ruin her way of life.
