Does anyone know if ISU is recruting this kid? Too early to say if we would get him or how well he develops by the time he's a senior but i just never even heard mention of him till today....
Here we go. Another example of us devoting time and money recruiting a kid for five years in our back yard just to have Kansas or an ACC school come in the last month to woo him away with the appeal of "tradition" and the opportunity to play with the next MJ.

Just a guess, but you never asked out a woman that was way out of your league, did you?
Edit: Not saying that Jok is "out of our league" but we'd be foolish to not go after a high recruit in our own back yard.

Actually, it does...We followed HB to about every AAU game he had.
Why? I assume there would be rules in place to limit staff's ability to actually converse with HB at these events and it's not like he was some unknown player to the staff that needed to be scouted. Was it just a matter of never being out of sight, out of mind?

Evulation period...no rule that says you're watching a particular player too much.
I'm not saying we shouldn't recruit him. It's just crappy how this stuff plays out. Our recruiters spend time (which equals money as well as time lost recruiting other players that won't get preyed on by powerhouse schools) with the kids, their families, their coaches, etc., just to lose them to a last second coach who has a sweet pick-up line and a nice smile.
