I just hope there are a few threads by posters defending Coach; it would be very entertaining to read.

No kidding, Tate dominated Brackins last year, and I'm sure Lick will review thate game film and deploy the same defense.

Re: If we lose to Iowa...

Here they are, the rollercoaster Cyclone fans. We win a game and the mega-optimists come out predicting sweet 16s. We lose a game and the mega-pessimists come out predicting a loss to an Iowa team that is comparable to a poor mid-major.

McDermott is not a bad coach. He knows his *****. He teaches the players constantly. He's adjusted our playing style to best fit the type of players we have and need to compete in the big 12. We lost to a more physical team. Coach understands our weaknesses and needs to find a way to correct them.

Regardless of all that, anyone even thinking there is a chance of losing to Iowa should be shot. We will win against Iowa, and it will be impressive. Fans will be excited again even though the win is against a crappy team. However, first we will lose to Cal, and another melt down will occur even though it is a game we should all expect to lose.

I can remember when the previous coach was here, I felt ISU had a chance in EVERY game... (please do not turn this into a coach vs. coach thread)

Our non conference season always seems to be a throw away. That ensures we never make a tournament. We tinker the lineup for the KU game on ESPN which we now always lose.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

Look, I've been as big a McDermott supporter as anyone else. I think he has been on the **** end of a lot of tough breaks over the last three years. And yes, UNI is a talented team. But there is no way in hell that UNI should "outphysical" us. Ever. If we can't outphysical UNI, we have no chance of competing in the Big 12. And I'm not sure at this point McDermott understands our weaknesses, but if he does, why hasn't he been compensating for them?

I haven't given up hope on this season yet and I haven't given up on McDermott - yet. I said I'd give McDermott this season to get it done. There's still a lot of the season left to play. But right now - it's not looking good.

This pretty much sums it up for me too. Lots of season left, but the optimism is turning.

Re: If we lose to Iowa...

I would like to see people compare posts from anytime before we had our first loss of the season to now. This is what I refer to as rollercoaster fans. I'm telling you, after our next win, we will be a great team again according to the message board fans. Just wait and see.
