Disappointed more than anything.

Re: DG
DG was our best player last night period.
I would have liked to see this lineup last night:
Garrett
Colvin
Lucca
Gilstrap
Brackins
I'm general, I would like to see Buckley get some of Colvin's minutes, and Colvin get some of Christopherson's minutes.

Re: DG
DG's crossover at the end of the first half broke my ankles and I was sitting in the stands.

I'm general, I would like to see Buckley get some of Colvin's minutes, and Colvin get some of Christopherson's minutes. I would argue that was mainly because defensively UNI was focusing on shutting down the three in Lucca/Chirstopherson, and limiting Craig and Quis. You could tell they were not too worried about DG and they shut down a lot of his passing lanes forcing DG to take more shots than ISU would ever want him to take. However, for the most part, DG did really good with what came his way last night.

Re: DG
how often are you going to play a team that can shut down craig and quis and ALSO be able to shut down the 3 from LS, SC, and JVB?

But supposedly, we've kinda faced 2 of them already. NW didn't shut it down quite as much as UNI, but they slowed us quite a bit. And we seemed to have no issue letting them dictate things.

Re: DG
Lineup should have been:
Colvin/Buckley (needs to play more if you want him here next year plus he's too good to sit on the bench all game while lucca/scott stand on the 3 point line
Garrett
Ques
Brackins
Hamilton
Lucca is completely pointless unless his man leaves him. He cannot drive and doesn't even attempt to honestly. Scott Christopherson seems timid since we started playing good teams. If we want to have a good year we need more than one person in who can drive late in games.

No. I agree that parts of his game have improved and I'm not saying bench him for good what happens when other teams decide not to guard him and he keeps missing shots? 5 guys basically guarding 4...and in the half court you get exactly what we saw last night. Lucca has problems getting free and Brackins has trouble getting it in decent position.
Last night was a real eye opener for me with DG. I hope he can at least knock down a few shots are we and he are in trouble. Your hitting on what has concerned me the most about Mac's tenure and that is that our guys never seem to be able to improve on their weakness's. DG needed to improve his outside shooting and it looks like their has been little or no improvement. CB needed to get stronger and develop some post moves, yet he looks the same as last year. Ham has some offensive potential but needed to improve his foot work, not much improvement to me. Our guys just don't seem to get much better over the years. opposing scouts have got to love watching ISU.

Aside from that, he was pretty damn good last night. Assist numbers were down at 4, but we were not scoring the ball well. Just one turnover and 15 points.
Without solid, consistent play from DG, frankly - UNI beats us by double figures.
I'm ****** like no other we've lost 2 in a row that we should have won, but I must give this kid props - especially because I've been so hard on him. He's proving his great play earlier in the season hasn't been a fluke.
22, I agree with you. DG was not the problem. He has improved significantly. Hamm is much better this year also.
The new players were the ones who did not carry enough water in the last two games. Their next chance is Cal. Let's hope CB gets a present and wins.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I'd be more critical of Craig in the last 2 games than I would DG. I am well aware UNI focused a lot on him. However, if Craig is a high lottery pick like all of us expect - he should be finding ways to work through this stuff. Countless other top flight players on other teams with similar levels of talent around them are still able to score at will even in the face of double teams.
CB is a great athlete and Cyclone - and he's not playing bad. I just expect more from him in both production and leadership. We do not appear to have a real vocal team.
