Changing up the line up
What is it going to take to get a change in the lineup to see if different combos work? It looks now once you earn you PT you cannot lose it and that bugs me. There are real issues about a few of the players on the team and others getting a little more PT they could get better and pass the current starters. At some point the bench guys can pass the starters and at some point a coach has to make that change. 4 of the 5 starters have been starting the past year and not getting the results on the court.

Re: Changing up the line up
Maybe. I could see Dendy maybe getting the nod over Hamilton. Even though Dendy has struggled lately..

Re: Changing up the line up
I'd like to see Colvin on the floor more. The kid reminds me a lot of Tinsley with his court vision and he has made some really great passes in traffic lately. I think he's a player that once he gets his feet wet some more could really be a game changer the more he develops.

Re: Changing up the line up
If nothing else, a lineup change would maybe wake some players up. Those that don't "wake-up" see a reduction in playing time.

Re: Changing up the line up
How about this:
Colvin, DG, SC, Brackins, Gilstrap
I would be comfortable with D Buck at one of the guard spots as well.
Bad news is we sill still stink at rebounding no matter what lineup you put in there.

Re: Changing up the line up
DG needs to not be chucking up 3's he is not a shooter, we do better when he is dishing the ball around, I like colvin on the floor because he makes tough passes. Why cant we rebound? box out and crash the boards, shortest guy on the floor was getting rebounds!!

There is little excuse for an NCAA BB player not being able to hit open shots.

Re: Changing up the line up
Rather than starting another thread, I think this is as good a place as any to bring this up- Is our depth causing problems with getting the team to gel and get in synch? If we're going to go 10 deep, I'd almost like to see a line change type swap than 40 different lineups hitting the floor during one game. -

Re: Changing up the line up
If anyone needs to be benched its Garrett. We end up playing 4 on 5 since other teams leaves him wide open and drop off to help on D since he can't hit a wide open three to save his life. Also, Hamilton's D and rebounding have been really disappointing. Dendy hasn't done much either but maybe he can with some more PT and confidence?

Re: Changing up the line up
i think all the lineups really depend on matchups of the game
overall though the best backcourt combo is probably colvin and christopherson
they are the best overall defensively and both can handle the rock. i actually think christopherson would be a great pg (great shot, good handles, solid d, plays offense aggressively).
christopherson, marques, dendy (when he is healthy), brackins, jvb (when he is healthy) would be a large interesting lineup

Re: Changing up the line up
Does anyone think SC is quick enough to guard some opponent's PG? I imagine between him, Lucca, and Glistrap we could get the ball up the floor. With that covered, what if we ran a line up of SC, Lucca, Gilstrap, Brackins, and JVB? You'd have 5 players who are a threat to shoot from outside. This would not allow teams to key on Brackins if we kept the floor spaced and I don't think anyone is going to dare SC to take wide open 3s like they do DG.

Re: Changing up the line up
It'll be interesting to see what happens. Based on McDermott's and Fennelly's twitter feed, you get the idea that Greg is really feeling low and doesn't know how to reach this team. I feel sorry for him.

Dendy I don't see how benching DG and not Staiger solves the problem. If you really want to switch up the lineup, take out the guy who simply throws up 3s and nothing else during the game. Don't take out the guy who can play something that resembles defense and can actually pass and dribble the ball.
