After reading through this witch-hunt thread, I was thinking it would be rather nice if we could tweak screennames to more accurately reflect personalities on this board... Is that even possible?.....I think I'll call Coach ***** next monday and ask him the relevant question!!!!!!!!! You would just be plain "Bobby", because your only comments regarding ISU are to bash players, coaches, and administrators with your "clever" nicknames like *****, and there is nothing "Cy" about your comments Originally Posted by fcmc At least the caller had a thought.

Mcdermott hasn't had a thought for four years. I guess that I must have missed all of the clips of Boozer tearing someone up in the post. Or maybe I didn't because it has never happened. At least when Lucca throws up a prayer from 26 ft, it has a chance to go in.

You do realize that you are doing pretty much the same thing that you are trashing Bobby, fc, and nad for.
Perhpas it would be best if the blizzard took your Internet out for a few hours. You aren't doing yourself any favors today...

Maybe that was a bit over the top, but IMO it's far different to lob non-stop grenades at a person publicly on the message boards trying to get them fired than telling an anonymous person that they are posting like somebody twisted their nads or that they aren't acting like a Cyclone fan...the same old thing day after day gets old...where were all the criticisms from you guys at 6 games into the season? Was there something magical about getting through the 9th game that made it ok to make your judgements then?

Re: Gmac's answer to a caller tonight - wow
Thanks for stepping in, Tornado Man and jbhtexas. That was great insight from the both of you; I was curious as to the rules myself, and how ISU was able to do what they were doing. It appears that 'walrus' is the one spreading a bunch of lies now in his attempt to educate us on what he believes are basketball rules.
While the players were certainly not hanging on the rim or rocking the hoop, they were bouncing the ball off of the backboard and throwing it down, whether they were technically touching the rim or not (which, we have found out, would not be illegal anyway). Bottom line is, Lucca was sitting outside the three point line shooting nothing but threes, and several other players (including at least 3-4 starters) were messing around.
I don't care if its his game or not, a 6'5" player should be able to post a 5'7" player. At the very least, you should be able to catch the ball with your back to the basket from 6'-8' out with the ability to put up lightly contested turnaround jumper. I don't think its Lucca's fault that the staff has not made this a point of emphasis with him. If he continues to just sit outside the three-point line without a threat of driving or posting up, defenders will never have to worry about closing out on him.

The "magical" thing about the first five games of the season is that they were played against significantly inferior competition. It's rather hard to make evaluations and judgments about the status and capability of the team when playing against that kind of competition. From SLU forward, the competition has been improved, and playing against improved competition has exposed a number of issues that warrant discussion.

Here's a thought. Put in Boozer for Staiger who's way more comfortable in the post and post up the 5'7" guy that way.

It looks like that when threads get long enough, people keep rehashing ideas that have already been discussed about having little chance of success. Once again, as Tigerhoops pointed out, we are talking about Charles not Carlos.

For some, I guess it is just better to watch a player get owned then to try to make adjustments to improve the situation. And yes, he thew up some shots in garbage time. Big deal.

Boozer posted up 3 or 4 times last season and I remember twice he ended up going to the charity stripe as a result. I wondered why McD didn't do it more. Charles is also very strong for a 2 and plays in the paint well for his size (see offensive boards).

Re: Gmac's answer to a caller tonight - wow
As you can tell by my post count, I'm new to this. However, I believe this thread needs to be shut down (coming from a guy who did post to this thread awhile back).
Hammer me if you want, because I am back here reading your posts related to this topic...I understand the hypocracy.
What I'm trying to say is, selfishly, I enjoy reading your (the last 3 or 4 of you still on this thing) thoughts on all of the other topics and I'm sure others do as well.
I just hope you're not wasting tangible thought on an "old" topic.
We will all need your thoughts in a couple of days, right?

If a kid hasn't posted up in his life, it's not exactly taking advantage of size difference. No problem with this comment.
