Re: McDermott and a new coach
If we lose 2 or 3 more conference games and don't win more than 6 conference games then I may join the "we need a new coach" bandwagon. Right now the last thing I want to do is "start over" again. We have the talent this year, and I have confidence it will still payoff this year.

I think that's fueling some of the anger. We're still essentially at the bottom.

If I were the Athletic Director I would give GMac my 110% full support throughout the entire season and review the state of the Program at the end of the year. Oddly enough, that is also my plan as a fan.

If we win 4 conference games and finish below .500 I will lead the charge for a new coach.
But we are 6-3. Granted, we don't have any good wins yet but there are still 22+ games left this year...many against good teams.

Floyd (even though that would always be my choice) ...said he'd never coach here again, although $$$ could talk.
...Knight? How old is "the General" anyway?

Gmac received three 1-year extensions based on:
1 Year for each of two lost scholarships (2 total years) from APR in Gmacs 1st year (scholarships likely would not have been filled anyway).
1 Year for Jiri Hubalek sitting out 6 games in Gmac's 1st year for driving the wrong car (yeah, I know, wtf?)
So Gmac received a 3-year extension (and 1.5M in buyout money) for losing 2 scholarships during his 1st season and for JH being suspended for 6 non-con games.
How in the hell did a contract get written and approved that didn't distinguish between major and very minor NCAA offenses? And how did anyone possibly think a 1-year extension for each individiual offense made sense?
I can't answer that, but wow what a blatant and stupid mistake that resulted in a coach who had never coached at this level receiving a 9-year contract before coaching a game. Just plain crazy. And it would be just as crazy in principal if Gmac was winning. Just makes no sense.

Didn't we beat Drake by 20 this year and everyone was excited and comments all over the board about how Mcdermott is the man for the job, now we lose games to three good teams and its the end of the world.
I was extremely upset after UNI and Cal but more because Craig is not demanding the ball and Hamilton is gettin dominated by guys who have no business dominating him, when we change that than we will beat teams...

...Knight? How old is "the General" anyway? I agree that Knight would be sweet, but knowing that he turned down Indiana's invitation to the Hall of Fame ceremony in his honor, something tells me he doesn't wanna come to ISU.

Re: McDermott and a new coach
What really hurts is that our home court advatage seems to be gone. We used to be able to hang our hat on the fact that we are very hard to beat at Hilton. That would be especially huge this year as we get Texas, Okie St and A&M at home. But.........
