Re: Craig Brackins poster: How they did it

I went to high school with Dan McClanahan and my wife is good friends with him. Dude is incredibly talented.

    Exactly.

If you look at that one file with all the images of him cut out - you'll notice from the cut out, Craig was not placed exactly in the same spot when cut out as to where he was at actually on the floor. (look at the 5th Craig in from the left - at his feet, you'll see what I mean).

This was done to give the appearance that he took air from the free throw line, when in reality - he jumped from about a foot or so after he crossed the line. IMO, Craig can likely do it from the FT line or damn close to it, but for this they needed him to not be quite as focused on making the dunk and more on being in the right place and the right "pose" for the shot.

At least as of right now, only way to get it is by attending the game tonight and bringing the "coupon" that came with the ISU MBB season tickets.

Artistic license. It's not about whether CB can or can't dunk from the FT, it's about making the poster look really freaking cool. That's what artists do.

This poster is only available at the Iowa game from what they said at the UNI game. I wonder if they will be available for purchase anywhere?
