Jon Ness in the late 70's. In a game against Iowa he singlehandedlly almost was enough to bring the clones over the top. If they'd have had the 3 point line in those day's ISU would most likely have won. He was unconscious good and I'll never forget that game.
No matter what, I could NEVER cheer for Dirt and Urine. -

Outside shooter I would go with Barry. Guys that could score when being hammered either Fizer or Big Vic. Guys that you wanted to have the ball on the last possession either Justus or Horny.

The shot he hit with time running out in the NCAA tourney in Minneapolis against Michigan to win the game is epic. Not to be picky, but that was Miami of Ohio. We didn't need a last second shot against Michigan.
Also, another shooter from the late 70's who deserves mention is Andrew Parker.
Smooth lefty who could stroke it

Willoughby is the reason I'm a cyclone fan. My all time favorite so I'm biased.
I also refuse to put Jake Sullivan on any "all time great/best cyclone _____" list.

The 2000 Elite Team, Michael Nurse was lethal 3 point shooter

Playing the game of basketball: Hoiberg, Stevens, Sullivan I guess you don't count defense as playing the game. Or maybe you are talking about a different Sullivan. Jake was slow as molasses in January.

Smooth lefty who could stroke it You are right my C.R.S. was acting up again. Just thinking about that tourney run had me smiling all afternoon.

If you're just talking raw shooter, Jake Sullivan. All time ISU and Big 12 FT shooter. All-time 3pt FG percentage leader for ISU.

Dedric Willoughby - no question about it, he had the most natural stroke we've ever seen in Hilton. Not to mention, he played hurt just about every game.
A program isn't built on one player and it doesn't succeed because of one player, thus a program won't fail if it doesn't get that one player. -

I absolutely agree! Every time he shot the ball, it looked pure. And you're right, he did play hurt alot, especially his senior year and still drilled clutch shots. He is my favorite Cyclone of all-time!

Hard to compare, but both Hornacek and Stevens had better field goal shooting averages than Jake. They didn't have the three, but both regularly shot from way beyond what we now know as the three line. They both got more layups than Jake too, but Barry backed up to get open.

The old Don Smith...
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
