Re: Cyclone Alley - Texas Game
CAC is a joke. LAMD is right on here!!! I really hope that Cyclone Alley is wild and crazy not only for the Texas game but for the rest of our games this year at hilton. We owe it to our players and coaches and our school. This can still be a very memorable year our team is making significant strides, we are almost completely healthy besides JVB, and gilstrap is taking his game to another level. CAC please dont ruin this season for all of us.

Not saying that you are, but by the absurdity of your post, I could only assume that someone went out and made a new account to make sarcastic remarks about how awesome Cyclone Alley is. If you are really give your true opinions... then, wow. Don't know what to say.
If you think Cyclone Alley has been rockin' at any game this year... you are sadly mistaken. The "old timers" are right in saying that it used to be much better.
Conference games should help things a bit, but it's a broken system right now.

Re: Cyclone Alley - Texas Game
Hilton Magic will not return until Cyclone Alley is dead, and we go back to a regular student section.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection. -
Re: Cyclone Alley - Texas Game
The alumni around the building should step it up to a little bit, saying the students need to lead is a **** poor excuse, don't sit down during the large runs until the opponents do something besides take timeouts to make you sit down, make them hit a three or a score a basket at least before you sit back down.
A lot of times looking around when the student section is actually trying to crank it up, the alumni are waiting for something to happen to get them up.
So sick of the student and CAC bashing. Weekly threads, even when there are no games are getting ridiculous.

Re: Cyclone Alley - Texas Game
I consider myself an "old timer". Honestly, and this is for those defending Cyclone Alley, I just don't get it.
Nothing (yet) to get your panties in a bunch, but what I have witnessed is not how it's supposed to be.
I just missed Cyclone Alley as a stundent, and from what I have heard from some current students, I thank my lucking stars. I probably would have gotten myself kicked out of many of games, and done some extremely questionable things if I had to endure the crapstain I hear about (not to mention see "on TV").
Can anyone explain how it came to be? Who (outside of Pollard) is in charge? Are these people 'appointed'? How do they have this Gestapo-type authority? Are the chicks giving out dirty looks (for being non-conformists) hot, and do they give out favors for conforming?
I just don't understand how this all works (for those of you like me, I did not intend for the last sentence to read like a sarcastic joke).

Re: Cyclone Alley - Texas Game
McDermott HAS to be behind this...
He had really, really stringent rules he used to send emails out about when 'Mac's Maniacs' were going at UNI. No swearing, wear the shirt, be respectful, etc...
I ended up going to a lot of games and sitting with my dad rather than being part of that crap...

Someone a row ahead of me had a "Beat IOWA" shirt that was gold on. A girl in CAC told him to change shirts or leave because .... "the game was on TV."
CAC ... THAT SUCKS!
Same thing happened to me before the game except I was wearing a gray sweatshirt talking to friends on my way to the balcony. Came down in the second half took of the red shirt wore the yellow, started some cheers but got no support. But I did enjoy the guys in the second row yelling CAC sucks all game and afterwards the girls behind them told them they were too loud. Good time.

Not even close. The only positive I've seen is are the free throw signs, and the movement is usually late.
Listen carefully. Conformity breeds complacency. In the good ole days, had you told us that we all had to wear matching shirts to attend, we would have told you all to f-off. We would have went to the bar or back to the dorm, got hammered, and watched the game on TV, because in those days almost all of them were actually on TV.
Everyone in the first three rows was talkin' smack, and many were downright rude - IF you could hear them.
I'm sure in your eyes you believe you are rowdy, but collectively as a group you've got a LONG ways to go. And as long as the organization is ran like a student council drunk on power, it will never reach it's potential.
Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.
