Duke Fans Nervous?

They shouldn't be. Duke is better than Cal, and we saw how that game turned out.

I bet the Cornfuskers weren't worried when our football team came to Lincoln! Its about time the bball team gets one of those big breaks too! Its going to be big news on sportscenter tomorrow night!

I agree with this. Unfortunately. I'm hoping we don't get completely rocked, but that's what I'm expecting. I'll be ridiculously shocked and giddy if we somehow win.

I fully expect this to be an absolute blow out. Duke's D will make us look like a JV team. At least we play 5 more games with top 10 teams after this one.

I just hope our fans can hang in it until the end of the season when we have a couple winnable games that can send us to the NIT. Not likely, but something to hope for. I think we have only been to the NCAAs 3 times in this decade and I dont think this team compares to any of our other NCAA teams.

This team MIGHT rival some of our NIT teams.

If we win, I will consider it the most unlikely win in my lifetime.

If Brackins scores 30+ points, we probably won't win. That will mean that he's had to take the game over because no one else can produce. KU game last year...42 points, and we still kind of got owned.

If Brackins scores 15-30 points, we've got a shot, because that hopefully means that Gilstrap has stepped up, or Lucca has made 11 threes or something crazy like that. We NEED this all to happen; DG is pretty responsible with the ball, so I'm not too worried about him, but Lucca and MG always worry me with their inconsistency.

If Brackins scores less than that, we're just screwed.

Why is everyone acting like Duke is unbeatable? Their team is not a complete team and rely's too much on the 3pt shot. Zoubek will not be a threat for Brackins, and if they have an off night from 3pt range, they are very beatable. They have proved that quite a few times in the last few years.

The days of Hurley and Hill are long gone!

Since I cant think of the last time ISU beat a ranked team in a meaningful game... thats pretty much all I need to know.

They held a pretty darn good Clemson team to 12 points in the first half.

Duke is good, of course. They DO rely too much on the 3 point shot, but they can do other stuff besides that obviously. I think we have a shot, and I feel good about the game but that's because i paid for two big tickets to the game, lol.

Seriously though...I see any of these happening

(a) Duke beats the **** out of us, wins by 20
(b) We keep it close until the 7 minute mark of the 2nd until duke pulls away and wins by 10 in the end
(c) We win by ...some point total.

Hopefully (c)..we have a shot and I could see all of these happening. I had a low key Christmas. All I want for Christmas is a win over Duke. AH

05-06 I think for last win against a ranked team. The year before might be the last meaningful one.

Thats crazy to think that has been about 5 years ago since winning a meaningful basketball game.

The frustrating thing about this team is that the pieces seem to be better then the whole (anti-synergy?).

As athletic as this team is they can't stop dribble penetration. They routinely get out rebounded. They seem soft mentally and physically (ie settling for jump shots as opposed to working to get to the basket, getting pushed off the block, giving up offensive rebounds, poor free throw %).

This is the opposite of what I expected from GM's teams. I thought his teams would be fundamentally sound and mentally and physically tough.

I think this team has the potential to play far greater then they have demonstrated, and I hope that starts tonight.

Duke doesn't quite scare me like they would have 5 or 10 years ago. They have a very storied program and are a great basketball team but I don't think they have that "unbeatable" aspect about them that they use to have for so long.

Don't get me wrong, I don't expect ISU to win, but I would't be completely shocked if we pull of the upset.

They really are not talking about it to much on there boards. We have not been to relevant for awhile and they seem like a fanbase who thinks there **** don't stink (thats what I assume, I really don't know any Duke fans).
