Re: For the first time in my life...
Anyone who has given up on McD or Iowa State basketball, please pass your tickets on to me or someone else. We might has well get some use out of them.
Thanks in advance and we'll leave the light on for you (when we get better).

I realize that at times it seems like there isn't as much to cheer about as there has been, but to me the bigger issue is that when we make an exciting play the crowd cheers until the ball gets taken out and then gets quiet again. Used to be that a single big play that got us cheering would carry on for 4-5 possessions and the cheering would lead to more inspired play. It's sad when I feel like a dork as the only one in my section standing and cheering Gilstrap's dunk into the defensive series that followed Oh trust me, I am all sorts of passionate as a fan. That is why I just couldn't go to games this year. Couldn't stand that ****** late night drive back home feeling punched in the gut over and over again. Not after being spoiled with my college years, end of Orr, some Tim Floyd, and the end of LE. At least things were pretty exciting, and the team played with passion, especially in Hilton.
You guys know that "Protect This House" phrase Under Armour promotes? Most of those ISU teams did that. Highly ranked KU? Pffft. Better get ready for a rumble.
I think of Michael Nurse, and still love his quote about not combing his hair because he knew it was going to be a dogfight. Or Stevie Johnson. Remember him? All heart rebounding and defensive machine on the court. Also played on our first football bowl game victory team. Where our guys like that on this team? Those guys from our past have to be at least somewhat ashamed of what has happened to the legacy of ISU basketball.
Am I somewhat of a bad fan? Maybe. But I am not going to school for free and being pampered, or coaching and making fat bank, so I think I can comment on what I am seeing, and definitely not liking. The culture of our men's bball program absolutely stinks. Any honest person sees this and knows this. Do I want it to change? Of course. And I mean now. But it probably isn't going to, especially this season. I guess I just can't keep on waiting until next year. I think I burned up those years watching ISU football.
I hope ISU bball gets its act together, gets hot, and makes the NCAA tourney. I just don't see that happening as of now. It is McD's 4th year people. 4th.

Yes we all loved those teams too, but just because our current team doesnt play like them mean you cant support them. A true fan supports his team no matter what.

Is this the same light that was left on for the people who gave up on Wayne Morgan and Iowa State?
And as far as tickets go......no need to ask for a hand out from a disgruntled fan....there are plenty of empty seats to go around.

Re: For the first time in my life...
Have we scored on an out of bounds set play in the last ten games? That used to be routine in Hilton.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

No it didn't...at least under LE and WM...their philosophy was to get the ball inbounds safely, not to score...couldn't say for TF and JO, but I don't remember them being known for scoring on their inbounds plays. In fact I bet 90% of D1 coaches have this same philosophy.

Rooting for the other team to win?

Re: For the first time in my life...
I'm not happy with Mcdermott right now either, but keep in mind it wasn't until Maccarney's 6th seasonthat he went .500. Situations were different but some of you worship maccarney now, just think about it.
