Who'd you play? Who'd you beat?
Those are the two questions the ncaa committee always asks. Then they drill down further to determine the deserving teams, such as rpi, and notably record vs. RPI top 50 foes. If you can go .500 against a good number of top fifty foes and not have any bad losses (especially at home) in nonconference, than you should be considered for a bid. Here are the teams on our schedule in the current rpi top 50:
Kansas (2)
Texas L
UNI L
Cal L
Duke L
Baylor
Okie st
Kansas st (2)
Missouri (2)
A&M
Texas Tech
So far we are 0-4, I think we would need at a minimum 7 of those 10 games to even have a shot....and we need a statement game in there too. (read: we can't get swept by KU)
Thats my analysis.
Re: Who'd you play? Who'd you beat?
Maybe we should ask this question at the end of Season...?
Really doesn't do any good now, do you not think that this Team is not going to try and Win as many as they can...?
Re: Who'd you play? Who'd you beat?
I agree
Even if we win 7 of those we will still need to win one or two in the tourney.
We have zero quality wins and have won 2 games away from Hilton.

When are we allowed to start talking about the tournament? I love the tournament banter, and I suspect I am not the only one. The teams effort has nothing to do with our thoughts on where we are headed....this is what a message board is for man.
Re: Who'd you play? Who'd you beat?
The opportunites are there including more during the Big XII Tournament but we just need to take one game at a time. Can this team bring the type of effort we saw last night to Lincoln on Saturday? The games not listed against Nebraska, Colorado, and Oklahoma will tell the story of how well we will do against the RPI Top 50 in our conference.

As I will be there in Lincoln for the game Saturday, I am highly interested to see how we back up our performance vs the Texas game with.

When we beat a tournament team. I think that's the rule.

Thats your opinion. I wanted to lay out the pertinent facts so we can see where we are headed.

We will not be invited to the tourney. McDermott has 0 big wins in his career at ISU and I really dont see that changing anytime soon. I really hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

Based on some of the effort given in games this year, I sometimes wonder...
