Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
Seems to me I've seen a movie about a guy named "Rudy". Some guys just need an opportunity, be it sports or the real world. Lucca is about to find out what the "real world" expects..... not just an adoring (though gullible) fan base. I say go with what we have...... those that respect the Cyclone uniform.

Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
I say just play with the 7 we have right now. The 04-05 team made the 2nd round of the Tourney with only 7 guys.

Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
If Colvin has lived up to his end of whatever agreement was made between him and McDermott let him play. 7 players is cutting things way too close especialy if we get some whistle happy refs like we've seen in some B12 games (67 fouls called in the KSU-CU game last weekend)
I'm not worried at all about Mac's integrity looking bad. The duration of the suspension was entirely up to Mac and he should be able to adjust it if he sees fit.

To lift the suspension after a defined timeline was publicallly declared would be a longterm disaster. This is coaching (or parenting) 101...if you define a timeline for a punishment you've made your bed and have to sleep in it.
How is any player to take a future punishment seriously if McD reverses his decision now because of desperation? Didn't you watch Hoosiers?? "I need five players coach." Coach: "My team is on the floor."

Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
Go at it Hoosier style thats our team out there. Well for at least this game. I suppose maybe you at least dress colvin just in case someone god forbid gets hurt,

Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
The whole problem was Coach Mac put a timetable on the situation with Colvin. Now he would look bad pulling the suspension. It's amazing to think at the beginning of this year, our rotation was 10-11 guys, now we are just looking for guys that have a heartbeat.

Yeah, would have worked better to say until further notice or something and keep the 'February' talk behind the scenes.
I'm all for putting in Colvin, lifting a redshirt off of someone who is not mentally or physically ready to play is a bad idea when we have tough competition in the Big 12 coming up. If it was 5 or 6 games ago, I say we lift the redshirt against the scrub teams we played earlier in the year that wouldn't be a problem with me.

Re: Lift suspension or redshirt?
I wonder is Cam Lee is still on campus or if he actually graduated in December. Could use the body and his energy!
