Re: McDermott and keeping players on the team
I have been reading all of these statements and one of the things no one has followed up on the Lucca leaving was who he turned to. Was it McDermott, no. I kind of get the feeling that McDermott doesn't have a close relationship with his players. Could it be that he is like the king and doesn't relate to his players. Wesley had his brother call MD, Lucca had to talk to an assistant coach. Maybe he has his head in the clouds and the assistants do the real work. Just surprising that he is so shocked when these kind of things come down. Makes me think he is off in his Million $ world drawing up plays instead of working on developing players talent and player relationships.....

This is a great post! McDermott appears to be totally out of tune with what is going on within the team.
He was apparently totally shocked that WJ left back when that all went down. Yesterday they have a special interview on the website with Lucca about the upcoming game...and just a few hours later...poof...he is gone.
