So let's do this, let's see some wins. Let's see this team in the NCAA tournament. Because there absolutely cannot be any more excuses about how hard it is to do things "the right way" at ISU and everybody else is doing stuff we would never do. It has to start tonight and it has to continue. Nice post...agree totally.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Oh yeah. It actually was time to put his $$ where his mouth is and he failed miserably.
Not only is our coach not good at winning games or keeping players in the program, he also is all talk.
Pretty good combination we've got signed for the next bit of forever. I think he was talking about from a talent/being able to win games with the talent they had, not being able to field a team. This is now about having enough guys to play, not necessarily about winning. We have NO ONE backing up the 2 right now. Not a single player. When he made the suspension there were two other guys on the bench to cover that spot. Colvin is the best we have now to back that spot up.
The team wanted this. If news came out saying the team wanted it and Mac wouldn't do it then we lost the next 2 games you guys would have been on him that way too. At this point you are going to jump on him for whatever it does. It doesn't make a difference what he does he will do it wrong in your eyes. I also notice none of you talk about you past experiences coaching. That's interesting, not surprising thought.

Read the board. I am huge Mac fan and have defended him over and over.
This is really my first problem with him. I respected his decision to do what he did and thought that maybe, just maybe there was a coach out there that really did care about the kids etc.

I don't know whether or not Colvin deserved a suspension as long as he got, but the bottom line is that is what Coach Mac went out on the limb and said. He painted himself into a corner and now he looks terribly bad. Every player on this team now knows that suspension no longer means suspension. It means "suspension until we need you." Very well said. And the players' respect for Gmac erodes further, whether they realize it or not.

Re: Colvin will suit up tonight
I have a feeling that the same people bashing GM for "sacrificing his integrity" would be the first to call for GM's head if we lost to Tech without Colvin seeing the floor. No matter what GM does, he can't satisfy the haters out there.

Re: Colvin will suit up tonight
It's simply about having enough live bodies on the bench. I take it that everyone who thinks that Mac is doing this in the name of winning, thinks that Colvin is the difference between winning and losing? He's a nice player, but I don't think he has won or lost a game for us yet this year. -
Re: Colvin will suit up tonight
I also find it funny that some who constantly ignored the Macs principle before are now bringing them up. That's funny. When his principle are good you want to win. When you see him as going against "good principles" winning is not such an issue.

CC most likely will be shown the door should he act out again. I have no doubt they had a one on one about the whole deal since yesterday about what this will do for him should he get to play.

Re: Colvin will suit up tonight
I love how we have posters in here that are in the players heads and that they know what the whole team is thinking. Bottom line is we don't have a clue what the players think of this so its a bit ridiculous for some of you to be saying the players respect for Mac just went down farther.

GM "doing things the right way" and "teaching young me important life lessons". It seems to me that he has taken a look at what is in the best interest of the team, in both situations, it has changed a great deal since the suspension was first made.
If that is the case I would think the opportunity for "doing things the right way" and "teaching young men important life lessons" is still there. It has turned into a situation where teaching one young man a life lesson is teaching seven others a lesson that they don't necessarily deserve. Though I am not part of the team and don't know how they would be affected by playing with only two subs, I just don't think it can be looked at the same way it was back on the 7th, too many things have changed.

Just comical...we are going to take a hard line with malcontents unless things get tough and then we will make some exceptions. How is me being OK with this being hypocritical? How is this sending a wrong message to the kid? Someone please explain this to me...because I just don't understand.
We have 7 freakin players? Please tell me all the armchair coaches how you would play a game with 7 players. You guys are all experts so I'd love to hear the master plan you would come up with.
Lets look at this in the real world. Say you've got an employee that has a bad attitude. You have a deadline to meet. All of your employees will get profit sharing if you meet the deadline on time. However, you will not be able to meet the deadline unless you keep the bad attitude employee. What would you do?

I would hope CC understands that as well. If he doesn't then he may be kicked off the team very soon and it won't be an issue anymore. IMO if he hasn't learned yet he won't in 2 more weeks.
